No one is required to like her.

She does, however, have the right to be heard. If no one wants to, don't show up. Again, not required.

However, she must have said something, at some point, that they, those who made the threats, didn't like hearing. So she, seemingly, represents a danger.

The object of speaking at venues such as Berkeley, if one is conservative, isn't to speak to an echo chamber, it's to attempt to sway minds away from opposition and to support.

So, yes, conservative types will speak at sites that are not. Just as Sanders spoke at a largely conservative Christian college some months ago. It's what one does when one wants to sway opinions...
