Hillary would have won the election if the US uses a conventional election scheme

still crying about the skank???

the scheme protects the small town folk. their vote is as important as a vote from someone in ny or la.

in cities, the liberal media hypnotizes people into thinking that way. that is why i never watch the newz, or read the newzpapers, etc.

Let's just change the rules so your team can win? Is that about the gist of it?

How about we have more teams and keep the rules. I'm willing to bet that we all could go for that!

I think it would be best to simply eliminate districts and instead do total state count. That might be the most fair, that way no concerns either way about redistricting (for federal potus elections and governorship anyhow).

In the mean time all we can do is not teach kids anything that matters. knowing that it will lead to people dependent on the government . Why change the system when can change the people.

Wouldn't that make you a low information voter?
How do you know whats going on or what a politician thinks if not for the news/papers/etc?

Surely not just the internet alt-news websites and conspiracy boards...

Good to have a wide variety of sources for the most complete perspective, no?

What is truly amazing is the Trump won, the 1,500,000,000 dollars Hillary the faint spent was record setting. She was a piss poor candidate and she almost won. The media was (is) bought and paid for.

Election night we had "journalists" crying because their "guy" Hillary lost. Hillary was supposed to win, and lots of people, institutions and organizations are still angry at the dumb electoral system and the stupid ass people.

The scary deal is that if the DNC didn't screw with the DEM nomination, we would be under a Pres Sanders admin...

IMO.. that's why the DNC has shifted so far left... YMMV

I wonder how much of his agenda would Sanders have been able to accomplish through Executive Orders? With a Republican controlled House/Senate, E.O.'s is about all he would have.

If Clinton or Sanders had nominated a LIBERAL Supreme Court justice to replace Scalia, I wonder if he/she would EVER have been confirmed by the Republican Senate?

Yes, let's throw away a system which has made us the greatest force on the planet, ever.

There we go, that is what they want. Til the libs loose the popular vote, then where is the electoral college to protect the "real Americans" because it is for the "children". Right?

These asshats are pestilent children with a loaded diaper.

That's because the smaller states love socialism and don't want the larger states to dominate them by making them pay their fair share. Tyranny of the minority is what makes this country okay.

Thank the God of which I don't believe in, that we don't use the same system as everyone else. If so & she would have won....I would be in your country right about now.

I think being part of a official party should be seen as almost a scandal..or at the very least, a thing only by the most dull. Politicians should have a understanding of nuances and party tribe think destroys that process.

Agreed, I'm pretty sure freedom of association protects them though. Unfortunately I don't think we can make it passe either, blanket excuses for hating on other people is just too much to give up.

I believe that is why Trump won. He was seen as an outsider, we will see if that is true.

Belonging to a party means being owned.

Except we don't.

And if we had used a "conventional" scheme, she might have lost out to Bernie and Trump and not gotten into the runoff at all.

In your calculus you forget that all of the candidates would have been in the first election, not just Hillary v. 16 Republicans. And the entire campaigns of all the candidates would have been run much, much differently than they were. They were run with the EC system in mind.

Electing a president using the electoral college is a much better way to represent the country as a whole. Example; California has more people than 21 of the least populated states combined. Presidential candidates from a state like this would probably win the election each time. Using the electoral college helps reduce election fraud.

I will say it was the driving force between both Trump and Sanders popularity..the "outsiders" (even though both are firmly in their sides).

But its a start towards seeing other options..maybe in about 30 years we will have all this sorted out and politicians will be nuanced.

I think each state (and the district) should get 1 vote. If there is a tie, public oral exam on the constitution decides the winner.
