Say what you mean. Saying an armada is heading to NK but.. you sort of leave out the details that they are going somewhere else first for exercises, is ludicrous. Russian ships are usually somewhere near a carrier group. They usually use non military trawlers, similar to our USNS intelligence gathering ships. During the Cold War they were behind a carrier group as soon as they cleared territorial waters.

Short answer is yes he was tellling the truth. Hes are commander in Chief. He doesnt lie. Unlike every democratic president before him.

But its easy to forget that the fleet was compleating another mission before going on to nuke north korea or whatever.

That'll be pretty hard. Nimitz just completed a COMPTUEX on the 18th and will need time to do any minor repairs. She might be ready next week, or even this week, but Reagan went into a 4 month SRA about mid January. She might be coming out soon but has to do workups still before she's ready to go anywhere. That'll be at least a couple weeks.
