Have conservatives become more socially liberal than "liberals"?

The point is that this is liberals vs conservative thread, not Democrats vs. Republicans. And besides you've just admitted that not all Democrats are anti-gun. Small steps.

Let's be honest though.. the Green Party and Libertarian Party got less than 5% of the overall votes. The independent and 'other' got .86%.

It's a Democrat vs. Republican thread dressed as a 'conservative' vs. 'liberal' thread because Democrats and Republicans are probably ashamed to admit they are so loyal to those two despicable parties.

JMO though.

The left are proponents of wealth redistrobution which is NOT a liberal principle.

Liberal principles are principles of freedom.

liberal principles also include fairness...the wealth distribution has all the money going to the top 1%, and now they own close to 50% of the entire nations personal assets

No, you aren't talking about "fair" here; your'e talking about equality, specifically about equality of outcome.

And since you seem to prize it above liberty, you will lean left.

People who prize individual liberty, will lean right.

Personal liberty and perfect equality cannot coexist to the degree each side wants.

fairness is not necessarily equality, that's a false equivalency

Right now it's not very feasible. It's the end result of a very long road.

Knowing human psychology like you do, how do you think open communication of this goal would be received by the public at large?

~Haha Liberals are so evil, they only want to kill everyone and rape and pillage blah blah blah~.

Anyone who talks like this is a joke (ie. most of the conservative culture warriors in this thread). You can't generalize a group of people under some ideologically flawed hyperbole. Doing so just makes you look stupid, and ugly in the same way you think you're calling the 'others' out.

One could call "them" a parody, regardless of the side of the aisle they're camping on, when they start talking like that.

Problem is, they're completely serious about it.

I'm an agnostic, and I am personally offended you would claim that I in any way "hate on gays" when someone I care about more than just about anyone on Earth -- my girlfriend's sister, is gay. I love her very much.

You are just another example of an angry, defeated, desperate little leftist.

Now you understand the offense of conservatives accusing ALL liberals of being authoritarian and violent, wanting to suppress free speech.

Anyway refusing to serve gay people is seen as hate.

I didn't say you personally hate gays. Just that you're complaining.

I was talking about the Christian Right and their continuing hatred of the LGBTQ folk.

I thought I made that clear. But if I threw you in the mix it was not intentional and I'm sorry about that.

I just read my post again and I specifically said the Christian Right. I didn't say you were part of that group at all.

But you know what, it's this kind of sh*t: "You are just another example of an angry, defeated, desperate little leftist."
Which is exactly what I'm talking about. You just can't stop with the sh*t talking and hating on people. I'm not a defeated or desperate anything. I'm doing just fine. I'm just so GD tired of listening to the constant belly aching by the people who should actually be f*cking happy. I can understand whey Dems complain, they lost. You guys won and yet your sniveling never seems to end.

Get over yourselves for gods sake. Enjoy it before it's gone.

Sorry, but I wouldn't feel at all welcome by the far left for the simple fact of who and what I am, and I'd be afraid that if they ever won their way, I'd be among the first groups to be sacrificed for their utopian dreams.

As if you'd be any safer with the far right?

Extremists are extremists. Unless you toe the line of their specific and singular belief system, you're an outsider and ergo wrong.

It's genuinely perplexing why people persist in trying to make one set of extremists out to be worse than the other set of extremists. People willing to go shoot up people in an abortion clinic are not "safer" extremists than people willing to try and riot to stop a speech.

Unless one is a member of that extreme, anyway.

That might mean more if them same liberals didn't go around calling people fascist, islamophobe, misogynist, and every other INSULT they can think of.

"Now I understand..."?

No, I really don't. If someone owns a cake shop and those owners are adherents to a religious tradition that says homosexual "marriage" is wrong, why should they be forced to bake a cake for a "wedding" that violates their own personal beliefs?

Does sexual preference now supersede one's religious convictions?

This is further proof of leftist intrusion into our private lives.

Not when it comes to protected classes and anti-discrimination laws.

And yes you now understand why we have problems with conservatives lumping us with antifa and violent far-left extremists.

Fair enough.

As for "[enjoying] it while it lasts", I fully intend to for the rest of my life. Trump will almost certainly leave behind a 7 - 2 conservative SCOTUS, and even more important, has over 100 Federal judicial seats to fill that will absolutely stack the Federal judiciary to the rafters with conservatives for decades.

That will forever destroy the last entrenched vestige of leftist power in the federal government regardless of the changing political landscape going forward.

Right now, it's still us fighting propaganda. Even here, for as long as I've been here and openly Leftist, I still get accused of lying when I correct people on our beliefs. Bernie started a great dialogue, I think... it seems to be going still. I hope it continues.

Which is disgusting to me and why I truly hate the leftist meddlers.

The weight of the law should be behind the private business owner running his business on private property who is simply following his religious convictions.

Again, I'm not thrilled with any business denying a homosexual couple goods or services for any reason, but the free market would take care of it one way or the other if the SJW's would stay the hell out of it.

"Far" vs "Extreme".

Unless you are one of the ones throwing bottles at riots, and generally lashing out at humans and not a power structure or something at least logical. In which case i would be quite disappointed, honestly.

The socialists on the far left...they are like bernie. He's not a bad guy, we just have differing opinions. No biggie to me. I bet we could find a middle ground somewhere, he and I.

Sorry I'm a little off, finished treatment week.
