Schools Receiving Threats & Locking Down All Over the Country

I live in Vermont... last week the Essex School District (6 different schools) went on lockdown after an administrator at Essex High School received a threatening phone call. Apparently someone claimed to be armed and that they were going to come to the school. The Bomb Squad was called, FBI is investigating, Federal Agents and fully-militarized police descended on the area to protect against the potential threat.

On Wednesday of this week, I was driving around the state visiting High Schools and Tech. Centers for my job. I get to South Burlington High school, and hit the intercom button to get in, and no one comes to the door. 2 minutes later the place is swarming with cops, one of them yells at me asking where my vehicle is and demands that I "get out now". I must have arrived right around the time they were going into lockdown.

There was a "credible threat" in the form of an email, many administrators received it. It prompted the school lockdown followed by an early dismissal.

Then yesterday (Thursday), South Burlington received a follow-up threat in the form of an Email where someone shares their "murder list", listing off specific teachers and students. Apparently, the person making these threats is upset that South Burlington High School's mascot is being changed from "The Rebels" to something else...

My other threat was only a test. I stood across the Street and saw you evacuating. great job. Now I got to see what students I can kill. I’ve already hacked into your students emails and servers to see who. You all can keep thinking it’s a “low risk.” I can already be inside your building right now. I have access to all students and teacher information. check out the murder list. I’m watching you all.

The 2nd email is alarming, as the person identifies specific individuals they want to target, and says they were "watching from across the street when the school evacuated" (I wonder if this psycho saw me in the parking lot when I was getting shooed away by the cops, sketchy!). They even mention the reasons they want to target some people - one of the students listed was being targeted because "they spoke about the lockdown on the news".

It would appear that the threats in South Burlington are coming from a different source than those made toward Essex last week. Authorities have not publicly released any updates and the suspect from Essex is presumed to still be at large (as is the person threatening South Burlington).

South Burlington High School will be closed again today, Friday, due to the repeated (and apparently 'credible' threats).

There is also a Youtube Video circulating with someone who has their face blurred out, and their voice altered, who is supposedly the person making the threats. This video was originally emailed to individuals in the South Burlington School System, and has since been forwarded to the authorities.

Also, thinking back last month (and earlier in the year) there were something like 80 Jewish Centers that received bomb threats and other threats, in 11 different states (or more).

It makes me wonder if similar-minded pathological individuals saw the reaction from these threats earlier in the year and have found a way to feel "special" (if they feel at all). It sucks that someone is probably getting a huge rise out of this and these events will likely continue, the publicity and media coverage will probably only make it worse.

Anyway, I thought I'd share this since I just discovered it's not just Vermont that is experiencing these types of threats & lockdowns.

This is disturbing. When you can't send your kids to school without worrying about them getting killed, maybe we should start home schooling for everyone.

You really can't fault them for taking them seriously.

They have to.

I don't claim to know a solution, or whether there even is one... But it seems clear that things are broken in the USA, Canada, Europe. Our way of life at the very least will not be able to continue if this current course of Western democracy continues, it barely already is. Do you remember how things seemed almost innocent, and "good" before 9/11, sure there were problems back then but they sure seem like the glory days now.

I know on a personal level that my psyche won't hold up indefinitely under what seems to be a bunch of psyops, mass murders, and ignorance. It's taken a very large toll on me and my heart in the past year especially with most of my original quirky, joking personality having died. It was hastened by the death of my father, the only figure in my life who I could stand behind, feel safe. What's left of me personally now is a ball of anger and hatred that assumes the worst, sadly it feels out of survival necessity these days.

It's tough... really tough. And they always just pile on more and more, really, really tough.

Happens everyday all across this country. Lots of sick people, nothing to panic about. Most are attention seeking asshats, cops do there jobs and investigate. Statistics show is almost always BS threats from weak individuals

I think the reason for this is a merging of many factors.

First let me say I do not think only one ideology is responsible for this. Both people on the left or right, and those that would identify as neither.

The fact that social media and the internet has led for people to have threats be more visible, the fact that we are becoming so divided that people feel anyone who is from a different political party or other group is not just wrong, they are evil, the fact that it seems like the punishment for these types of behavior is not very sever, all of this is problaly leading to this situations.

What we can do is start talking more with people we disagree with, to realize that they are not evil but just have different idea. We can also demand that the punishment for these actions be very severe. When I was an undergaduate, we had several bomb threats one year. Turns out is was a student calling in threats to avoid tests. She got expelled and some minimal jail time. In my opinion, if she would have got 5 years in prison or more, it would have set the precedent for others not to attempt this.

Targeted or threatening the places where children gather is the lowest possible action, and should be dealt with harshly.

There is no such thing as an anonymous email communication. All electronic transmissions can be traced. So if they haven't got the guy, maybe they don't want to.

Also, these threats peak every year around the anniversary of the Columbine High School Massacre(April 20th).

Two unrelated threats made to a high school near me. One was to "honor the Columbine Shooters". The second one was a threat to "shoot up the school".

Another way would be to use a public internet location with their own computer like at an Internet cafe or a lot of FedEx locations.

I know what you mean.My son was,at the age of 5,almost murdered by a bigger older girl who hit him the jugular with a brick.My oldest gal and her MiL picked him up at kindergarten back then.My gal said,first thing,knowing me: "Ma now just calm down but look at Eli's neck." Apparently the "teacher" said only "Ach you know they bring these attitudes from their homes"

Yes it was a black older kid liberty'ing my 5yo lil son with a brick against the jugular,from Behind like a hyena!

Not a phone call to me,not a note,not even the Semblance of an apology..

But i got her phone number,i phoned her,believe me,and i told her,you are so lucky i don't know where you live..

Suffice to say the headmaster,who cannot hide when he is at work,not anywhere - had the worst day of his career in public education





So now we homeschool.Afore one of the household is incarcerated for murder most foul

Attention seekers with serious issues can still end up causing bigger problems. Anyone who would even entertain the thought of doing this just for the power and giggles needs to be viewed as a serious criminal . There needs to be a clear message sent that prosecution for these types of " games" will be severe !!!

There are ways to send an Email without it being traced to an individual. If it's just a random kid disgruntled at things, he or she may not think things out, so they may be able to be traced, but if someone has planned things and has real intent, unlikely they'll have sent threats that are easily traceable.

Back when I was in high school (~2001) 2 days in a row we received bomb threats that a teacher found in her school mail box. We were evacuated and sent home for those days. The fbi was called in and they investigated, ended up being the teacher...

There have been numerous ATSers saying that, but it seems few listen. Yes, its past time to home school; looking to do it now, unless your kids are very young, is behind the curve. Tens of thousands now home school across Texas and Louisiana and its growing fast. I have a relative homeschooling 7 kids; she tells me it isn't that difficult what with the Internet resources available. If you've got young ones, start NOW while you still can. A very few years from now when the likes of Maxine Waters is in the White Hut and the Democrats control Congress, they'll likely try to outlaw home schooling. Get in now while you can!

I'm female. And go Where,Tony,pray tell? last time i checked we were not brown or muslim,who's gonna take us? Well our old adversary,Russia,who is now our friend,will take us,my hubby and 10yo son would move to Russia in a heartbeat. I wouldna mind either BUT although my oldest gal is about to give birth to twin boys- her hubby could get a job in Russia. He is in the gold mining industry,as is my hubby,who is a specialist in his field. But my youngest gal's boyfriend? A pool cleaner.Idk if Mr Putin maybe needs a personal pool cleaner who is also an ace wildlife photographer?
