Looks like the bill regarding CCW in Alabama has been repealed. The new bill making it legal to carry firearms concealed by Alabama citizens is now on its way to be signed off.

Now only those with current mental illness issues will be required to apply for a CCW permit.

This is a big step forward for making America great again. Now lets see how this affects the crime rate in our major cities. I think it will have a huge impact on violent crime in Alabama. Time will tell.

I am so proud of our Alabama law makers.

This legislation is going to cost Alabama over $20,000,000 a year in lost revenue from the unconstitutional CCW permit fees.

God bless America

The only ccw permit anyone needs is the second amendment.

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

It was never conditioned on fees.

I think it will actually have the effect of those CCW carriers shooting innocent people either because of mistaken identity or because they get into an argument and feel that it is their right to shoot the other person.

Time will indeed tell.

Ill admit my husband never even applied for a CCW.

He always told officers his rights were inherited. That usually ended any further problems.

LE never really enforced the law anyway.
We give cops huge amounts of leeway (road taxing etc.).
In return, unless you were doing something stupid, they wouldnt haul you in for it.

One deputy threatened to take him to jail when the 9mm popped out of the glove box during a traffic stop.

He just held up his wrists to him and said respectfully:

"go ahead and take me to jail then"

Thats how you pass a brass check.

The officer probably knew getting a jury around here would be a lost cause.

But he was smiling when he let him go.

Goes to show, way more good cops then bad out there.

An armed society, is a polite society.

I just hope we do not become complacent again with our paid in blood rights.

Nonsense. Are you going to try and claim British society, or Australian, or any other Western country with strict gun laws is "impolite"?

Go ahead and try, you will fail dismally.

Yeah he does, but more importantly he had a father that was stationed in Hawaii when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

His father was very clear that he did not spend all those years in the Pacific getting shot at and bombed for no good reason.

Our rights are paid for.
They are still being paid for today.

Can you clarify yourself a bit more? This makes no sense in the context of the question I asked.

Unless of course you ARE trying to claim those societies mentioned are "impolite" because they are not armed. If this is so please show me your proof, and don't forget I live in one of those countries so I can easily disprove anything you may try to claim.

Are you conveniently forgetting all the mass shootings that happen in America on a semi-regular basis? None of that here. The difference? Strict gun control.

We have had a few one-off incidents that we have dealt with and will endeavor not to let happen again by changing the laws to suit, however the timer is ticking down until the next mass shooting in America with little or no will to stop it from much of the American populace. It's almost as if you like mass shootings or something.

No such thing as strict gun control.
That is proven over and over.

Mobile Sheriff is pissed.
"We wont know who is carrying guns"

Lol. Apparently considering the crime rate in Mobile they never had.....even with ccw.
