i have found an very cool site of predictions of how the future will look: 2050.earth...#
there are three decades to choose from 2030,2040 and 2050
in my opinion this site has two problems:
1: overoptimism
a lot of the predictions sounds to me like leg pulling especially the one about the police having jetpacks in 2030, isnt that what we have been saying for the last 60 years?
other ones that made me say uhhhh are: the one that by 2050 we will have 50 km high skyscrapers(wtf?) and the one about holograms turning popular(im pretty sure i heard someone say that holograms are scientifically impossible)
2: adertisement:
theres one bizzare and extremely unneded advertisement of walmart on the barcelona panorama
what are you thoughts?

Holograms are not "impossible." A hologram of Tupac Shakur did an entire concert in 2014. I don't know where you heard holograms are "impossible," but it's codswallop.

There are many future prediction articles and videos on the web. The website you cited is good except for the fact it is just another website that is trying to force someone to sign up on Facebook in order to use the websites contents. I have no intention of signing up with Facebook, ever.

Where did you hear holograms were "impossible"? A cursory look shows otherwise.

Well if they are making 2050 predictions.

Then means we survive the next 4 years and the progress will be 'good'.

here are the links, I suppose gauging the future is...well quite...random

anyone here partake in underwater seagull fishing yet it was meant to be all the rage

12 german postcards of predictions from 1900

Well, I don't have the time to follow every click on that web page/"app". All I want to know is if it says that we will finally all fly to work by using personal jetpacks.

Years ago, we were promised that jetpacks would be ubiquitous by the year 2000, but we never got them.

Damn.

"Real" 3D holograms with animations are possible but not in the way you probably expected. A few years ago researchers came up with a very clever idea: by focusing lasers on small area of space the particles in the air will get excited and release photons, essentially allowing them to create pixels in mid air. With very fast lasers you can light up a high number of points to create the illusion of a 3D objects and using different types of lasers we should be able to get different colors. I haven't really looked to much into it to be honest but I remember this story from a while back, here's a link I was able to quickly dig up: www.physicscentral.com...
