You shouldn't label all Midwesterners as racist xenophobes, that's not very nice.

We(midwesterners) are not, looky we have chicago and Detroit.

Midwesterners are little less self hating of american culture than those on the coast is all I'm saying

I can't concentrate on reading through this thread with that loud whizzing sound of the OP flying over heads.

It's downright deafening.

Here ultra liberal John Oliver complains about gerrymandering. Gerrymandering is what makes this country great! Eff the Democrats! Eff the liberals! This country is much better with just having Republicans in charge of everything. Listen to this whining:

www.youtube.com...

The Democrats are definitely against the ropes right now, but you have to remember why, like cockroaches, they are so hard to kill...

The bottom 60% of earners pays almost no tax (2.0% +/-). There are 50 million Americans on food stamps. 30 million wage-earning Americans claim the EITC every year. The fact is, most Americans, one way or another, get some form of government handout.

Getting people hooked on handouts is the Democrat survival strategy going back to the early 1960's when after passing another part of the Left's "Forced Equality" agenda, LBJ famously told two Democrat governors that he would have "those [n-words] voting Democrat for the next 200 years."

In the end, it's about wealth redistribution. I loathe Obama and pretty much everything he stands for, but at least he was honest when he said he wanted to steal the wealth others had created and transfer it to those who didn't. When he said he wanted to "fundamentally transform" America from a constitutional republic into a socialist kleptocracy I knew we were in trouble. Thankfully, in 2010, so did a majority of Americans who gave the House (and thus the purse strings) back to the Republicans. That forever stopped the Obama leftist legislative agenda.

The biggest problem I see going forward for the Democrats is with blue collar voters. Trump poached a good number of these working folks in 2016 and continues to court auto workers, coal miners, trade unions, etc. The leftists can't win without these folks.

I don't think much will change in 2018. The GOP might pick up a few seats in the Senate and lose a few in the House, but when the dust settles we'll be right where we are now.

It's 2020 that is really shaping up to be a blowout in the making. The Democrats have NO ONE with the stature and firepower of President Trump. They have a fake Indian squaw, a true creeper in Tim Kaine, and don't rule out Bill Clinton's wife if she's still alive.

If the Trump economy continues to boom and the president continues to fix the Obama mess, the leftists will lose badly.

If that happens, that is the time to talk about the potential demise of the Democrat Party. Just not now...

For the benefit of those who haven't figured it out yet:

Party A is in power. Party A does something the people don't like. The people decide to "vote the bums out" so they vote in Party B.

Party B, when it is in power, does things the people don't like. The people decide to "vote the bums out" again and vote in the same bums they voted out last time.

Rinse and repeat.

This con only works if the people have short memories (thanks to the media), and you have two and only two parties. A single party doesn't work because you need "those other guys" to blame when "your team" screws the people. If only one party is screwing the people, the people can recognize that the party is the enemy of the people. Or, more accurately, the party is the front man group for the enemy of the people.

Three or more parties doesn't work because then it becomes clear that at least two of them are nearly identical. For instance, in a two party system if the ones behind the government want to take a particular action like invading a country or creating an unpopular law, the majority party is given the task of implementing the action. The minority party is allowed to oppose the action, knowing their opposition will fail. People will be fooled into thinking that their voice was heard through the opposition party, but those darned "other guys" screwed the people.

With three roughly equal parties, you would need the support of two parties to beat the other. After it is shown that two parties consistently cooperate to screw the people, they, in effect, become one party, since there is no clear distinction between them. The third party gains more support and, once again, you are down to two parties.

So Republicans aren't going anywhere. Democrats aren't going anywhere. No third party will be allowed to attain any significant power.

Forget which party will control it all in whatever time frame.

Certain representatives on both sides NEED TO GO!!!!!

We should be protesting and livid about a lack of term limits!

The Dems complete and open embrace of the far-left is slowly turning the party on it's head, disaffecting lots of average, independent voters. They even had to cheat one of their own candidates to keep the status quo... what a mess.

Establishment Republicans will make sure Republicans fail, and along with the media/Hollywood relentlessly attacking Republicans, it won't be too long until Democrats find themselves back in power.

With the thinking members of the GOP siding with the Dembs, we will see a bipartisan House. Best Alternative yet.

Trump can't even find enough Republicans to make a viable cabinet. What's that tell you? If the Republican won't climb in the clown car, the house doesn't really matter. Even with the "beautiful babies" fiasco....Trump is sliding in the polls...even Fox.

And they will not . Unless they can pull back from the extremist Progressive Liberal Left
Of course , if they are not too far gone.

Even though the DNC and Bill Clinton's wife cheated the Bernie Sanders socialists big time in the 2016 election, those far left voters will still return to the leftist Democrat Party.

The problem the Democrats have going forward is with blue collar voters. These folks work for a living, pay taxes, can barely make ends meet in many cases, and are going to have zero tolerance for the New Left's insistence on wealth redistribution.

They voted is big numbers for Trump in 2016 (hence MI, OH, PA, and WI).

You realize this is a double edged sword for the left, don't you? They stamped, fussed, and fumed over how "extreme right" Trump was, "he's a racist," "he's a misogynist, " "he's the second coming of Hitler..." we'll, right now he's leading from a pretty centrist position and those screaming anti-Trumpers are looking like the boy who cried wolf. The venom and vitriol has actually opened the door for some real hard right conservative to enter the picture and slip into the White House somewhere down the road.

Yes they will.

Sooner than people think.

Americans have the attentions span of a gnat.

It's not possible. Listen to the liberal whining in the clip. Even though the liberals had more votes the Republicans sent 33 Republicans to the House. Nice try liberal scum but the Republicans rule!

"Liberal scum"?

Please please tell me you're a teenage. That's the only excuse for your immature rambling in this thread.

Seriously ?

I just got called a 'liberal' ?

WHAT THE HELL.

Serves you right you liberal scum lol. (I'm Joking) But it was pretty funny reading what you were not. No worries, we know you're one of us in the center.

By the way, I agree, the democrats are not out of it. The witch has nine lives.

Simpsons predicted Hillary win by using Lisa as the allegory for her. Notice how she says "We inherited a budget crisis from President Trump"

(I wonder when this episode was aired.)
Two sides same coin/predictive programming.

The Political world's astage.

I assure you, Neo is not a liberal. I also assure you, that no matter who you put into office, the end result will be the same.

I don't know about other democrats, but I don't want the job anymore. Everything is so messed up in our country for the average family, especially rural areas. All the Powers That Be do not want to solve our problems because they can't govern. More and more responsibility is going to one leg of power, the presidency. I think democrats should stay home and take care of their families til better or end of times. We are seriously looking at all out war. Mothers hug your babies.

He is flip-flopping all over the place because the rest of the world's leaders are telling him what is reality. And that is good. The mess of hooligans in the West Wing are not helping.

Yes, he's going more centrist, because he has no other choice. He can deregulate all he wants. That doesn't mean what some people think it will mean, because the systems that have been built under the regulations are NOT GOING TO GO AWAY.

He is realizing that Bannon and Conway and all of those snakes have been playing him for a tool. When the Leaders of the World come to meet him, and he has to act like a grown-up with serious ideas and intentions, he comes out of those meetings EVERY TIME singing a different tune than the one that elected him.

I have actually calmed down quite a bit due to his obvious malleability. In the right hands he can be controlled. He projected an IMAGE of racist misogyny, of recklessness, of bombast and destruction. Of getting rid of lobbyists, but a good chunk of his "cabinet" are Goldman Sachs monstrosities who CAUSED the 2008 "reset."

Maybe it just wasn't complete enough for them. Maybe they want to go back to that pre-bubble thing, and then pop it, and then NO ONE gets bailed out.

All I know is that he is, without a doubt, swayed by whomever spoke with him most recently. And he is apoplectic about others getting in the way of his celebrity. He's figuring out that this wasn't what he expected (if he ever expected to really win).

It makes no difference to me anymore. It's you all who are being disappointed - because he's not going to do ANY of the crap that the screaming mobs voted for.
If you're okay with it, so am I. Just realize that the grown-up thinkers and leadership of this world will prevail. And he's NOT ONE OF THEM.
