Republicans can't govern. They rule by tyranny.

How so?

www.marketwatch.com...

I thought I said no blogs. That was a BS blog by Catey Hill, not verifiable statistics.

I knew you couldn't do it.

You do realize that the link you posted is identical in content to the one I did, right?

It CLEARLY shows that the bottom 60% of earners pay no taxes...

Lowest 20% -2.2% -$643 Second lowest 20% -1.7% -$621 Middle income 4.2% $1,743

And that the top 20% pays 90%...

Second richest 20% 12.9% $6,285 Richest 20% 86.8% $50,176

According to YOUR link -- the top 40% of earners pays 100% of taxes, the top 20% pay (about) 90%.

So who pays for single-payer healthcare and what do you think will happen if the top 20% of taxpayers have their taxes doubled as a result?

What are you talking about? You live in the most advanced, privileged, and ultimately pampered nation in the history of Earth.

There is no where else better than this.

What more do you want and who should pay for it?

You mean we live in one of the most expensive and unfair countries in the world, and one that's getting more criminal and corrupt by the day.

Name one country that would work better for you.

Yeah, well the top 10% also own 85% of everything too. While the other 90% share 15%. The top 1% own almost half of that 85%.

You act like that 90% isn't pulling their weight. Most of them are obviously, they just don't see the payoff like the others do.

All that is fine and dandy, so how much more in taxes should the top 20% pay?

Please give me a percentage.

I don't know. I have no idea how much we're looking at. But that isn't the point. The point is that is where the wealth is at. So anytime you want to use tax dollars for something that is where you'll have to get them from.

But wealthy people have ways of not paying which makes those below them pay more. That is why we have no middle class anymore. The poor can't pay so they're not even considered. They already have no money.

But the middle can't hide their wealth like the super rich so they bare the brunt of it all. That isn't fair.

Oh, so it was a "trick", huh?

I'm still waiting for an answer. How much more should the top 20% pay to subsidize healthcare for those who pay nothing in taxes?

Because they tried to reach across the aisle.

Did you actually type that with a straight face? The socialist Dems had to sweeten the pot with earmarks and exemptions in order for centrist blue-dog Dems to vote for that fiasco. And you think Republicans were going to like it?

Remember that the ACA is essentially nationwide Romneycare.

This tired canard *again.*

If the Republicans couldn't get healthcare right in Massachusetts why should we now trust them to get it right on a national scale?

Are the Republicans from years ago in Massachusetts the Republicans in DC now?

We need a robust CONGRESS... a robust Judicial branch, and a ROBUST executive branch..

They work for US....

POTUS trying to reach folks from the opposing party is a welcome deal for me...

Time to end the BS media fueled "My Way or the Highway" party politics that have ruined the BEST form of National GOv't the World has ever seen...

It's up to the folks.... YOu and I to hold our elected to the work they were elected to...

Nothing is "fair". You live in the United States of America. It's as "fair" or "unfair" as you make it. We are all born equal under the Constitution, but what we do with those equal beginnings are entirely up to us.

Bottom line -- no one is entitled to what I have earned and I would go to great lengths to prevent any form of unconstitutional wealth confiscation.

And there are millions of me out there.

That's why the Obama presidency was an historic failure. America is not a kleptocracy.

Incorrect. The true wealth is in the so-called 'middle class' because there is a hell of a lot more taxpayers in that section of the population.

But wealthy people have ways of not paying which makes those below them pay more.

Wealthy people know how to handle money. That's why they are wealthy.

That is why we have no middle class anymore.

We don't have any classes in the USA, we are not a caste system. But we do have people who make certain wages.

The poor can't pay so they're not even considered. They already have no money.

But the middle can't hide their wealth like the super rich so they bare the brunt of it all. That isn't fair.

So don't tax them for something that isn't a solution. Sounds fair to me.

That's still another blog by Laura Sanders. I don't care if it's from the wjs. Verifiable numbers please.

This is just pointless if you can't back up your assertions.

Naw. I've done my due diligence. You are now welcome to post equally reputable sources to Market Watch and the Wall Street Journal to refute the established fact that the top 20% of tax payers pay almost 90% of taxes.

While you're wasting your time trying to do that, how about you tell me who pays for single-payer healthcare in the United States when the bottom 60% of earners pays no taxes.

Yes, well "Being Born Equal Under the Constitution" makes for a nice slogan but it's not quite true. People are born with different advantages and disadvantages and privileges and non privileges everywhere. Besides, that slogan was also written by a group of wealthy land owning, slave owners who wrote that with other wealthy men in mind. They didn't consider poor men to be the same as them and certainly not all men considering they didn't consider slave men as men at all either.

So are you saying you don't pay any taxes??? Or you do but just don't like it??? Or you just don't like paying for poor people??? Because your taxes go to the rich people too ya know.

BTW, America is a kleptocracy. It's not supposed to be. But look at it and tell me it's not.
