I'm thinking this thread deserves a bump.

Ever since I read it, it has been stuck in the back of my mind lurking.

Perhaps there is something to it?

According to the website, Friendship Day will occur on the 5th of May, from 7am to 4pm. There's nothing about it being cancelled.

I wonder what the OP saw on TV then.

Would be a strange coincidence if there are strikes around the 28th...
Perhaps someone slipped up and announced something they shouldn't of.

Then again, maybe nothing.

The date got me paranoid.
