Arrests along the border in March were the lowest in 17 years.

There were fewer than 12,000 people arrested while attempting to cross the border illegally in March 2017, a 64 percent decline from the same time last year

“This area used to be really hot,” Marlene Castro, a Border Patrol supervisor, told the Los Angeles Times... ...“You couldn’t move. Every time you turned a corner, you’d run into group after group,”

Source

For everyone who thinks illegal immigration isn't an issue... When 12,000 people sneaking into the country in just ONE MONTH is considered a massive decline, there's a huge problem. We have no idea who is coming into our country or who's already here.
Fortunately, Trump seems to have already made great progress towards protecting our border, like every other country in the world rightfully does.

So thats approx. 25,000 people were entering per month.

Thats 300,000 a year

Thats 3 million per decade

Which is 30 million per centenary if the figures continued...

Amexica sounds like a good name, huh ???

The influx is probably dropping because the outsiders can see nukes dropping on America soon, after Trumps attack on Syria.

... Try to explain me, where is the good news in this. 12,000 arrests in one MONTH. And that's like whopping low.for crying out loud. I hope this means not too many managed to sneak through, but the numbers are getting lower all in all.

But still, just get that friggin wall pronto

Trump is doing a heck of a lot better with immigration than Obama AND Bush AND Clinton combined.

What does Russia know about our border crossing rates? By the way, you are misrepresenting your own source. There aren't 12,000 less illegals sneaking in. There are less than 12,000 illegals sneaking in. But that's what you get when you source a propaganda article instead of posting the original source. Stop playing fast and loose with the statistics; you are confusing people.

Speaking of the original source, here are the real numbers.

Across the Southwest border, the number of immigrants caught crossing illegally into the United States has dropped dramatically. Fewer than 12,200 people were apprehended in March, a 64% decrease from the same time last year, and the lowest monthly number in at least 17 years.

Here in the Rio Grande Valley, ground zero since 2014 for the flow of asylum seekers fleeing violence and persecution in Central America, the number of families and unaccompanied children caught entering the United States has plummeted, from about 291 a day in January to just 37 a day in March.

Those aren't the right statistics at all.

The number is down because most are already here.

No, arrested.

A sample and not a census of "persons entering" illegally...

Color me unimpressed.

Look at old headlines. Every year during the Obama regime, illegal entries were said to be "declining numbers."

It was just the lie of the day, to convince you that immigration was no big deal, and not something to get upset over. That it was a problem that would solve itself.

This is basically, "See, we don't need wall; it isn't a real problem....'

No might about it. Simply look at the mugshots and names of recent arrests in states being plauged with increased crime. Count the es or az endings!

Statistics show cities along border have lower crime rate than national average

"The border is often painted in an unfair light," Cuellar said. "The people who characterize the border as a violent and crime-ridden place often have never visited, or lived here. The FBI's official crime statistics for yet another year demonstrate that the border is home to some of the safest cities in the United States. Violent crimes like murder and aggravated assault are much higher even in our nation’s capital than on the Texas border. These unfounded stereotypes about the border have the potential to hurt business, and we need to stop this misinformation about the border."

Why would I care about jail in Texas? I care about statistics and data. Not confirmation bias fodder.

Keep in mind that many of these are not people who are going to stay in America or are looking to stay in America. Some of them cross illegally on a daily basis for work, either at a permanent job they report to always or as day labor. The they cross back at the end of the day.

Rinse and repeat.
