What you are referring to is classical examples of socialism: USSR and PRC. Socialism is not mutually exclusive with tyranny. Even if those are the only examples we have had so far.

Socialism has nothing to do with social justice. But ill admit that they seem to be found in similar circles here in the US.

Old hat...or in other words, misinformed and ignorant.

Social justice is not the same as socialism, but it appears to have been conflated.

"Social Justice" as described by the left is socialism. Just like "progressivism" is another word describing the same socialist policies that have always existed under socialist regimes.

Heck if you were to read the description of socialism under Lenin, and how "progress is so important", you would find almost word for word the same thing that socialists these days say.

My point with this was that social justice doesn't even seem to have anything to do with social justice, which begs those questions where socialism now that seems to be a constant that they all do seem to care about.

I left a little hole no one seems to have caught though: do they even really care about socialism? Is it just a farce like the rest?

Or is it not? Consider the statement: after getting abortion rights then pro-choice was no longer good enough, they then "need" everyone to be pro-abortion. I shudder to think of what comes after pro-abortion.

Now look at the socialism thing: Socialism could be described as being degrees between raw capitalism and pure communism. What perfect a model of 'no victory is ever good enough' when looking at the degrees of socialism. There are a lot of degrees that they could win and none of it ever be good enough... until they get pure Communism.

Is this all just a preprogramming of the subconscious of the populace to themselves beg and fight for each little step, and think it was their own idea all along? The film Inception comes to mind.

Homie, i ain"t pointing to anything as a positive example of socialism. I think socialism is a terrible idea, at least with the way humanity sits today.

Even if we end up living as slavemasters to our robot servants, there will be those of us who will not be happy until they are producing new and innovative ways to enrich our lives. Entrepreneurialism will always exist. Socialism doesn't properly account for this.

America have no Idea AT ALL... what Socialism is. Here's a time period and golden example Post World War II Britain/UK.

You have no Socialists/Socialism in American Politics, the sooner you realise it the better you may understand the hole you're in and how to get out.

Looks to me like Socialism breeds Innovation, especially when it's for the common good... In comparison to Capitalism when profit fears can squash any Innovation in order to keep the status quo rolling in.

SJW's are the code word for black people who protest an injustice, and is meant to make them sound like wild animals with no self-control....all you need to do is go back into the ATS posts, and read what is said about them.

This is one of the most ridiculous arguments I have ever seen. Truly one of the worst arguments I have yet witnessed in my 8+ years of being on ATS.

You remind me of the black woman who was having a political discussion with others and when one of them, who happened to be a white male, was speaking about having admiration for a politician who had demonstrated hard-work among other positive characteristics, she became triggered, stopped the conversation and stated that people in general (not JUST you white male) should be careful about using the words "hard-work" because in her view real hard work was best experienced by staring into a photo of black slaves working for their masters that she keeps on her desk at work to remind herself of how lucky she is not to be in that situation.

No. I did not make that up. Yes, it is real. There is video footage of it. It is not intended, unintended or even mistakable for satire. You can actually see in her face and body language that she knows what she is saying makes perfect sense. It is not possible, or at least would be the first time in history so far, that something so obviously not intended to inherently be viewed as satire could end up deceiving the viewer into thinking that it isn't.

I can find the video footage of it if you want me to, but I would prefer not to because you will end up watching it and experience psychological torment just by doing so. So, unless you are an extremist masochist of the worst order willing to completely absolve me of anything that happens to you as a result of watching the video, on principle I will not link it.

Relativism requires one to hold standards to some that he wouldn't hold to others, resulting in the sexist and racist mess we find among those who advocate for social justice.

But we all want social justice to a degree. It's all a matter of degrees and if it's happening to you. If we saw someone murdered on the street, we'd want justice. If we saw someone raped on the street we'd want justice. If we saw a guy grab a woman's ass on the street we might want social Justice, definitely the woman and her family members would. Would you?

What is social justice? Wanting justice for an entire group, a collective.

Your examples are not that. They are for individual justice on a case by case basis and only after a crime has been committed.

Which I am all for.

If we saw someone murdered on the street, we'd want justice.

And hopefully justice would be done, by making the murderer pay.

The social justice response would be to condemn everyone that walks, talks, acts like the murderer and require they all fix what's wrong with themselves.

The justice system in America and most of the west is the best in the world.

How to improve on that? Dont.

The problem is that people get left out or get shafted by the system, government all the time. Cops get away with murder, Women and minorities get discriminated against, LGBTQ people get harrased, people with disabilities get a raw deal from people. Fighting for those people and better laws and changes in policy etc are what social justice Warriors do. For real. Whiners and people that stereotype whole groups are not social Justice warrirors.. they're just jerks, small minded, close minded people. but they aren't real social Justice wArriors. Martin Luther king jr would be turning over in his grave

This is the problem. SJW wants special treatment for people because of assumed discrimination.

If the cops legitimately murder someone, they will be prosecuted.

Did you ever stop to think those anecdotal scenarios of people being 'discriminated/harassed' is because they were a-holes or broke law/contract? From what I have seen SJW assume innocence before gathering the facts and learning the background information. All that matters is that one person is female/black/gay/etc and therefore were framed.

People are jerks. That includes minorities. Accepting that fact is fairness in action.

You seem to be saying that there is no need to stand up for any social issues? You said yourself that you were in the Tea Party and that in itself is a "Social Justice Warrior". You weren't happy with the direction fo the Republican party and took a stand to try to change things. Probably hurting the main stream republicans in the process. Isn't this the same thing?

With equal rights now universal here, what that the SJW's goes insane about is even warranted?

From my view, the things that All United Statesians need to stand together against they're the #1 force ensuring that is an absolute impossibility with all of their insanity and rabid intolerance.

Not true at all. Socialism and communism both deal with concepts of social and economic parity and they have always recruited people while pushing ideals like equality for women. It just comes on different forms. How about child labor laws etc. yes socialism in the labor force.
