It might be a Capitalists wet dream, that Communist China can be convinced to stand idly by when America goes in to bring NK to its knees. But if you think about it, and your grandfather was killed defending NK during the Korean war by an American machine gunner, it isn't gonna happen. Plus the fact that America as we speak wants to also bring Chinas friends Syria and Iran down in the general plan at the same time. If this is miscalculated, and China gets any troops killed, were heading for the brink. But this is what happens when a Government gets out of touch with the general aspirations of its people.
Its a beautiful tactical trap, and a great spot to do some damage to America when its supply lines are stretched.

I am hoping that it is China making a move AGAINST North Korea and not sending a message to the United States to stay the F out of NK.

Korean war repeats. If US-SK attack from South, China will enter fromt he North to assure most part of NK remain in their sphere of influence. It is so simple. The other is nativity. I am sorry but seems Mr Trump got the naivity to believe he could outsmart Mr Obama. At the expence of all of us getting either nuked or rained by radiation...

When Chernobyl exploded, the people stopped thinking of whether they believed the Party line or whether they were against the many wrongdoings in the Socialist Block. They started thinking of their children...and their future children not to be born with inherited defects, to get away from Chernobyl and so on. There are things that cannot be excused by any ideology.

If Trump attacks the North, he risks at least EMP and may be more. Kim is dead sure to attempt to do it. What guarantees the US superb anti-missile shield will be good enough?

The troops are probably there to stop people fleeing over the border to China should the US decide to deposit some ordinance in NK.
I hope Trump's military chiefs don't plan on doing that , it would be stupid.

I agree with you but removing Fat Kim is the right thing to do since he grows more and more erratic in his behavior. It would be the best solution to just hand him over to the southkorean authorities to avoid any bloodshed.

Who is going to just hand him over?

china probably intends to invade and i bet their meeting with trump was to set up this invasion to coincide with our carrier group arriving as air support for china.

I didn't hear anything about China sending supporting armor for the troops. That (among other things) would be the tell tell sign of an immanent invasion. You don't send troops by themselves unless you are doing it just to watch them die.

As a few others have correctly pointed out they are there to secure their border from North Korean refugees.

Which begs the question of why are they suddenly worried about a large influx of unwanted North Korean refugees?

Answer: China took note of recent aggression and latest Syria missile strike by the U.S. and is not necessarily betting on a similar move on North Korea...but just in case (because strike group headed to lil Kimmy). They don't want those disgusting North Korean pests tromping across the border into China bringing their diseases and misfortune, so just in case, they send some troops to protect themselves from that.

Trump and the Chinese president both agreed that Lil Kim needs a spanking the only question is who would get the pleasure. It appears trump won. Kimmys nuke toys are going to the scrap yard shortly.

China isn't doing this on behalf of the US. Given the rise in tension over China's claim to islands in the south china sea I doubt they are going to be an ally in this. Either they are doing this to protect their border or they will go in to help NK. My guess is China would not want a NK run by the US or unified with the south.

30,000 troops on the DMZ won't stop a million man army from blitzing south. Once the north gets entrenched in the south this will be one bloody conflict.

Thats ok though we have an entire generation raised on Call of Duty ready for the draft. You remember that card you filled out when you were 18 right?

China wont start WW3 over North Korea.

North Korea had its uses. But in this modern ages its outlived its uses, now its just a anchor stone round Chinas neck.

If the USA had to oust little Kim china would only ask for three things:

1) No uses of US nukes.

2) No US troops to be stationed on the new Korea/China border once the war is finnished.

3) North Korea to be handed over to a new goverment agreeded upon by China and USA rather than joined with South Korea.

Reasonble demands.

Of course China will posture and threaten war but wont go through with it as its pointless for there long term goals.

Bet the chinese felt that way going into Chosin resevoir as well...

also another 200k or so fighting men from South Korea, Marines at Okinawa.. carrier group soon to be in the area..

Can the north take Seoul.. sure odds are easily... its everything after that.. when the air power starts to wear them down, and the reinforcements keep coming.

North would have to win total victory probably with in a month before their supply issues would end any chance of victory.

I do hope we do this clean if we are. The people of North Korea are just as much prisoners then civilians. They deserve a second chance. Their leaders on the other hand. Crater the # out of them.

Having been paying attention to what all has gone on in the past, and currently this can be stated:

Who did not see this coming?

Anyone who has studied history, and in particular history of the 20th century following the Korean conflict, could pretty much tell you that the results of such would be. One does not have to be in intelligence to put things together. And it is important to understand that the Korean conflict never ended.

Since the Korean conflict, China has been a close ally to North Korea. China has been giving both military aid, materials and assets to North Korea. For all of these years since the 1950’s China has been giving such to North Korea.

Even when the first round of the 6 party talks came up, China was there was trying to brokering the talks and to maintain the peace. But they have always been on North Korea, even when there has been tension between North Korea and China, they have always remained allies.

Trump does not understand that the key for North Korea, is to go through the Chinese and not make any provocation. And with the missile strike in Syria along with Trumps words has made China very nervous, nervous enough to start to move military assets closer to the boarder with North Korea ready to rush in and not to allow for anyone to invade.

Just think, after Krazy Kim nukes the west coast, all shackles will be off the US to use nukes preemptively from that day till eternity, ensuring nobody else ever gets the chance to fire a nuke at us again. Too bad for the radical lefties in Californiastan, but nukes will fly in their names in vengeance.

Maybe the Carl Vincint is a MartyrShip.....and will be Nuked.....thereby unlocking your Pandoras Box with fewer USA losses.

Let's hope that China is sending those troops as a warning to DPRK to behave themselves.

Relations between DPRK and China have been deteriorating for some time and further since around 2013 in regard to nuclear weapons tests by DPRK.

Strange how the last gas release/attack in Syria happened that same year.

Absolutamente Brother Snarl.

China doesn't care about NK. China only cares about China.

And a reunified Korea under western political "ideals" is NOT a good thing for China.

Not sure what the short game is, but the long game is Kim is out, and NK becomes another Chinese province.

My guess - military coup removes Kim. News at 11....

I think that there is now a very real possibility of little Kimmy supplying Isis with nuclear materials, or that being used an excuse to strike which would bring Russia back to the fold too.

Just a thought

Interesting. 150K to border is not a border monitoring force. Its a first line invasion force. maybe China has had enough of the regime and the little sh.t.
Did Chinese Pm and Trump agree something!

First line invasion force? LMFAO
do you make this stuff up in your spare time?
I mean, how much more creative are people going to get to amp up the drama and melodramas in their heads?

The Chinese could be moving 150,000 troops to the border, if it's actually true of course, to put pressure on North Korea.
They could be moving them there, not to invade, but to prevent a flood of North Korean refugees flooding across the border into China, should Trump order a strike.

Or do you actually think the people of North Korea, starved and impoverished while their leaders are fat pigs with every luxury of modern society, are going to sit there and die for the Kim cult?

What most of you are also missing, is that somewhere, someone, is yet again making billions and billions in profits from all this tension around the world and the war drums beating...again.

How easy some of you forget what really goes on. All it takes is a bit of sensationalism in the media, and your brains go into the pre-conditioned panic modes. LOL it's hilarious.

And we should be so lucky that Trump strikes North Korea, and finishes off Syrias Assad and the terrorists fighting him, at the same time.
When exactly are we, the civilized world, going to do something about the dictatorship cult over in North Korea?
It's been allowed to fester too long. About damn time someone got serious about taking them out.

Same with Syria. What is it now 6 or 7 years they've been fighting over there?
Finish it off already.

Them move on to Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Wipe them all out once and for all.
