AFP news agency are reporting that legal sources have told them a Russian computer programmer was arrested in Barcelona on the 7th and has been remanded in custody after an extradition request made by the US , the suspect is named as Pyotr Levashov.

A "legal source" also told the AFP news agency that Mr Levashov was the subject of an extradition request by the US.
The request is due to be examined by Spain's national criminal court, the agency added. El Confidencial, a Spanish news website, has said that Mr Levashov's arrest warrant was issued by US authorities over suspected "hacking" that helped Donald Trump's campaign.
Several cybersecurity experts, including Brian Krebs, have also linked Mr Levashov to a Russian spam kingpin, who uses the alias Peter Severa.

Interesting, so what happens if it was found out that Trump lost in key states but vote hack switched the results...in such a scenario would Trump be forced to step down? Would this be considered a act of war from Russia if its found this russian was ordered to do so by the government?..many questions on such a scenario.

Like all good espionage stories this one has many twists and turns , I'm starting to warm to the collusion theory surrounding the US airstrike on Syria , who knows where this rabbit hole will lead us and the consequences if the stories are true but I think it would be considered an act of war if it were proven to be true.

One thing can be said of the Trump Presidency , never a dull moment.

I would imagine it's someone within the Spanish legal system but that hasn't been clarified.

Nope.

Not in a legal, constitutional sense. The president is not elected by the voters.

The voting result is a just a "suggestion" and can, as it was greatly discussed, be disregarded by the electoral college. If however the electoral voting process somehow got hacked, it could be argued, that the president was never elected at all.

It appears that he upset someone by manipulating the stock market ....election interference, not so much

Spam King Pyotr Levashov Arrested

Reuters story on Levashov’s arrest cited reporting from Russian news outlet RT which associated Levashov with hacking attacks linked to alleged interference in last year’s U.S. election. But subsequent updates from Reuters cast doubt on those claims.

The U.S. Justice Department maintains that Severa was the Russian partner of Alan Ralsky, a convicted American spammer who specialized in “pump-and-dump” spam schemes designed to artificially inflate the value of penny stocks.

Levashov is currently listed as #7 in the the world’s Top 10 Worst Spammers

An intriguing development that the missile attacks may not be able to divert attention from.

The only way this will be denied the attention it deserves is by attacking on North Korea, or a more spectacular event.

Gee, I hope not...

The "fake news" nonsense the Trump campaign started is beginning to do a lot of damage.

Nobody knows what to believe anymore if they are honest with themselves, but anyone with half a brain has the discernment to realize it is on them to do their own research to find out if what they have been told by whomever is actually true.

...Good luck with that one...

The truth never becomes self evident until it makes no difference whether it's true or not.

No one is claiming any votes were changed.
The hacking was of the DNC email servers and the dissemination of the contents in a constant flood. It was the creation of fake news about Hillary's ethics or Hillary's health. It was the deluge of lies presented as fact in social media outlets.
It was a calculated campaign to make Hillary undesirable as a leader.

I don't care anymore. I didn't fall for any of it. The country is going to burn our prosperity away with wars and bombs anyway. We allow those people in the middle east or levant play us like kindergartners. Blow themselves up and scream for US to help.

Maybe / maybe not.

The wife of a Russian computer scientist arrested in Spain has reportedly been told by police he is being held over a computer virus linked to Donald Trump's US election victory. The man was picked up at Barcelona airport on Friday "by officers of the police technological investigation unit following an international complaint" a Spanish police spokesman told AFP adding that he had later been transferred to Madrid.
The detained man's wife, Maria Levachova, told the television channel Russia Today that her husband was held "at the request of the American authorities in connection with cyber crime". The channel quoted Levachova saying that Spanish police told her "a virus which appears to have been created by my husband is linked to the victory of (US President) Trump" in the US election last November.

I hate to burst your bubble but there are a lot of us who don't think that all the news is fake. But it's certain that an element of society will believe just about anything.

Firstr, election voting machines ARE NOT connected to the internet. Remember Hillary's puppet Stein putting so much effort and cash into some States just to find Trump gained 24 votes?
