That's actually a very good point and could well be a problem where say a sense line is becoming blocked with ice. I would have assumed these engines
had moved over to all electric bleed operation but if not then that would do it. I actually had a CF-6 bleed valve recently that had been damaged
where the mount bolts sheared and the sense line had been completely broken off. Might have explained why it wasn't cooperating and doing its job!
The whole thing reminds me of a similar problem that used to bug the CF-6 thrust reverser DPV's (Directional Pilot Valves). They would freeze from
tiny amounts of moisture and stick, and the solution is to add a few mils of glycol based anti-freeze every check or so.
The hits keep coming. JetBlue announced three A321neos were converted to ceos, Spirit converted two A320neos to ceos, and deferred delivery of two
more, into 2019, and Mexican carrier Volaris deferred delivery of several aircraft this year. All related to the engine problems.
