Notable Imam wants some Australian Muslim schools shut down

The first and most important tactic of the MSM when they are dealing with a topic that is considered to be controversial is to either attack the credibility of the subject in question to make anything they say seem untruthful or to boost the credibility of the subject to make anything they say seem more truthful if this will support the narrative. You can see this tactic in 99% of new stories that involve a discussion of a controversial topic. Not when just reporting on an event, but when discussing a topic that relates to an important issue. Credibility is important, but the truth does NOT require credibility to shine. Keep that in mind.

Imam Shaikh Mohammad Tawhidi wants some Muslim schools ‘shut down’

A VOCAL critic of Islam who has called for the closure of Muslim schools in Australia has found an unlikely supporter.

Australian Muslim leader Imam Shaikh Mohammad Tawhidi has backed Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s demand that Islamic schools should be closed for security reasons.

Imam Tawhidi is now reportedly in hiding after he told 7 News: “These schools do exist, they are a problem and they need to be either shut down or changed completely.”

The surprising comments came after Ms Ali sparked anger from Muslim groups when she compared them to white supremacists.

The US-based, Somali-born activist cancelled a trip to Australia at the last minute, citing safety concerns over the organisation of her trip.

While in Australia, Ms Ali had planned to highlight the need for Western countries to educate themselves about dawa, or how radical Islamists spread their ideology.

She told AAP while the West should continue its military battles against terrorists, it needed to focus on the spread of Islamic ideology through schools, mosques and non-government organisations that, on the surface, appear nonviolent but ultimately act as a “conveyor belt” for violence.

Ironically now, I am going to ask you to focus on the credibility of the person making this claim. What personal gain could the Imam possibly have when making these comments? His life is now in danger, he is now more susceptible to claims of promoting Islamophobia and he will be viewed by those who is commenting about as a traitor. Keeping that in mind, what reason could this Iman have for lying about what he is saying? What could he possibly gain by publicly lying about such an important topic?

All I can conclude from this story is that somebody who identifies as a current Muslim and has an above average level of credibility due to his position in the Muslim world believes he is helping Australia by revealing this information, which would go against his beliefs if he were an extremist Muslim, telling us there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

How can we as Australians not take his claims very seriously and act on them as soon as possible? Or at least place a greater examination on these specific schools without those inside being aware.

Something is not right and we need to address it soon.

If he's not murdered in an honor killing then he will probably get suicided real soon.

I wish there were more brave moderate muslims like this man that were willing to speak up about the volatility of their community.

A delicate operation for sure, realistically there would need to be more people like this woman speaking out, they need to police their own as such and expose the radicals.

At least this Imam wasn't influenced by Wahabism which seems to have spread as far as Malaysia according to another OP.

I really wished there are more people like him that can turn the tide against the spread of Saudi Arabian style Islam which seems to slowly corrupt many Muslims due to the spread of Saudi missionaries all over the world sponsored by the Saudi government.

You might be unaware, but the person the Iman's comments are supporting, Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a Somali-born former Muslim (what we would consider to be a moderate one while she was a Muslim) who has a history of criticising Islam since leaving the faith. She is actually relatively well-known in much of the Western world where she now lives for having these views.

Of course anytime this happens, it is important to ask: why would she spend so much time and effort criticising something that seems so important to her if she is no longer within the system she is criticising? Personal gain to get back at the system that caused her so much duress? (1) Possible. Personal gain by being a useful tool for those that oppose Islam for no reason but because they believe it is purely evil? (2) Possible. Maybe she actually wants to make a difference in the Islamic world as well as the world as a whole? (3) Possible.

If the endorsement by this moderate Iman did not happen, I would say 1 and 2 were more likely. After all, she was accumulating fame within the West when these types of issues were discussed and it cannot be denied that this might have caused her original intention to change (which it did. She changed from wanting Islam to be banned from Western countries, to now supporting a universal reformation of the religion.) This however, does not seem like a "radical" change because her goal has consistently been to remove the troubles Islam has wrought on women within Muslim countries and the trouble it has caused in Western countries whose values differ in key ways from Islamic teachings. She is merely coming to a compromise (which might not be the right decision overall, but which seems like a reasonable one). I now feel firmly that number 3 is far more likely.

So we have a very credible source (Imam) endorsing at least some of the key views of a very credible source (Ayaan Hirsi Al) and there is no evidence of a hidden link or association between them, they are only being linked because they are both expressing views that are consistent with what other moderate Muslims have stated in the past, which is something many people living in the West suspect is a critical issue to examine, but which they are being prevented from discussing because of claims of Islamophobia.

There is a problem. Even if you believe there is a giant conspiracy to make Muslims look bad within the Western world, we cannot take that gamble and just ignore what we are continually being told by credible people. We have to make a decision now.

He has to go into hiding, IN Australia, and she had to cancel her trips to Australia due to security concerns, IN Australia, which means the police could not guarantee her safety, IN Australia....

so this tells us that there are Muslims, IN Australia, capable and willing to kill people for wanting to simply discuss extremist radical Islam.

But no problem, lets await the usual suspects to claim it's all made up hysteria...

3, 2, 1.....

Well glad to hear a Muslim speak some sense for once

Allowing Islamic schools to exist only validates the separatist agenda they try and bring upon us.

Assimilate or be gone I say.

Cultural diversity is an absolute joke if in reality it just means tribes of people who will not interact with the wider community living in Australia.
