It's absurd to think you have to be without any kind of Money in order to be Anti-Capitalist, reality is we live in a Capitalistic world, so we have to exist while working to abolish it.

It would be hypocritical to say you are Anti-Capitalism and then live like a Billionaire or profit with the oppressive exploitation of "Lower classes"

Also knows as Kendall Jenner protest commercial. I think you just summed it up nicely.

I don't think any of the Jenners are Anti-Capitalist

Pepsi was trying to exploit a liberalized version of a protest to sell products

I'm more upset that Pepsi pulled their ad than the ad itself. This whole whiny,pc-infested,safe space,SJW whatever,is utter crap.Pepsi sucks anyways.

Yes I understand what the intention of the commercial was. It seems to me you are attempting to look at this with a microscope when looking at the broad picture and the context it is being presented in is necessary.

So you are complaining that they pulled the add because others complained? (You aren't alone, other ironic bros have said the same).

I think many of you here are so quick to blame "snow flakes" and what not that you are failing to see the ridiculousness of the commercial and make fun of it for what it is.

It's ridiculous because they were depicting a liberalized version of a "Protest" or really a glorified parade, and that somehow an affluent person could come and "Save the day" by offering the police a Pepsi when the reality of a real protest and real resistance is far different from that

This is just pandering to the 'Peace Police'

Yep.

Perhaps if they had cast Caitlyn Jenner, had her gyrate in the face of an 80 year old man, pepper spray him, and then throw a full can of Pepsi at his head while stealing his wallet, then it would have rung more true for the so-called 'peace' movement.

Making fun of it is good for my mind's eye.

If you wish to abolish capitalism, what do you envision replacing it? I ask honestly, because frankly, most don't really think that far ahead beyond generalities. That's also probably potentiated a bit by the fact that tearing things down is significantly easier than building something in its stead.

I find this whole situation just.. strange. Its not a particularly bad message, I suppose, and I can kind of "get" the reaction. But, are there so few serious issues in these peoples lives that they feel expending their limited time and energy on protesting this is a good investment?

And, what's up with a 150 second commercial in the first place?

Its also hard not to find it humorous that in threads like this, the neverending quest to be contrary to specific posters ends up in some pretty silly statements. I dig it though, in its way.

Those with Money that claim to be anti-capitalism never are, quite aside from the fact that anti-capitalism is socialism.
How's Venezuela working out ?

It grossly oversimplifies issues. The idea that "Oh hai, we can all unite and solve all our problems simply with cans of aspartame or HFCS mixed with lab created colors, flavors, and effervescent water" is not only ridiculous, but it is sort of a slap to the face of people who have lost their lives fighting for peace.

Are you saying that doesnt work?
"Buy the world a coke" totally changed the world. And to a lesser extent "we are the world" saved the children. But didnt give them coca cola.

It would have been more believable if she had emptied a bottle of pepsi then filled it with petrol, lit it and thrown it at the police.

Anti-Capitalism isn't just "Socialism" there are different forms of Economic practices that could (should) replace it.

Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, places like those have never been true "Communist" or for that matter Socialist Nations, people are told to believe that is true, but reality is it's not.

Marxist, Leninist etc are not true forms of Communism, but the 'transitional State' in order to install Communism, which is why anarchist have fought and clashed with Marxist, Leninist etc for centuries.

Dang bro, you got all the basis covered. Anarchist, Communist, LGBT! It's like an Instagram grand slam!

Tell us all again how true Communism has never been tried, and that Socialism and Communism are better than Capitalism if we would only give it a shot. I haven't heard it in a while. I bet your Tinder profile is a real hoot.

I don't have a Tinder Profile. Or Instagram for that matter either

These so-called "Communist Nations" have never gotten out of the 'Transitional State' thus no true communism has ever been in practice, but a consolidated State-structured power

True communism also calls for the abolishment of State, not 'State controlled "communism or socialism"

If you really want to have a conversation about this I would be more than happy to, but we shouldn't derail the topic

No need, I was just being a dick. It has been discussed ad nauseam aleady, I don't mean this as a personal slight but I doubt anything would be accomplished or introduced that hasn't already. That includes anything I could bring to the table.
