So a designer thanked Melania for wearing one of "theirs". But there were a whole lot of people who were not happy that Stefano Gabbana would work with the first lady.

The White House released Melania Trump’s first official portrait on Monday, and Italian designer Stefano Gabbana is cool with the fact that she is rocking a Dolce & Gabbana blazer — on top of the fact that she wore a massive diamond ring reportedly worth $3 million. The designer defended FLOTUS and told Instagram trolls who chided him for working with her to “go to hell.”

Seems there is little tolerance for Stefano Gabbana having the audacity to work with the first lady. But the designer is handling it with class and swagger. I think it would be an honor for a designer to have their products used by either of the first couple.

Gabbana took to his personal Instagram account to post Trump’s portrait, taken by Belgian-born photographer Régine Mahaux, with the caption, “#DGWoman BEAUTIFUL #melaniatrump Thank you #madeinitaly,” and a mix of heart emojis and the American and Italian flag emojis.

However, Gabbana got trolled hard by some of his followers.
One follower @_boyafraid_ wrote, “So you have lost a follower, and worst, an admirer,” only to have Gabbana respond, “i dont care!! Really.”

Gabbana responded in Italian: “vai a cagare,” which translates to “go to hell.”

Regardless, Gabbana’s post still managed to garner more than 10,000 likes.

Who cares? At least we have a First Lady who looks decent, doesn't have a fat ass or wear cut-off jeans on Air Force One. She's a class act instead of an embarrassment.

I find it funny that the tolerant people who love to have anything and everything be normal, as long as it is OK'ed by them have such a visceral hatred for anything they disagree with.

If I disagree it is done with respect, not these gems. They spit venom.

Next they'll be attacking who does the Manicures around the White House or who supplies their toilet paper...the Idiocy continues unabated.

SHE would make a flour sack look good, IMO.
Regardless of her husband, she is a beautiful and graceful woman/mother/former model and has found herself in a very difficult position. I wish her the best and I hope many other designers step up to the plate to dress and design for this lovely woman who is currently (for better or worse, like it or not) the First Lady of the US.

edit on 4-4-2017 by TNMockingbird because: I've NEVER actually seen anyone WEAR a flour sack

I think it's refreshing that the First lady did a stint at soft core porn. American as apple pie.

In the mind of leftists and liberals it makes sense. They still can't believe that Hillary the faint lost. I mean they STILL can't believe it, and they are hell bent for leather.

Melania is so beautiful but I think her fashion sense should reflect the Trump aesthetic like Kelly Ann....

Whatever happened to KellyAnn anyway.

Well that was the topic on the inauguration day on Twitter. I have never seen so many vile and immature remarks about a first lady. They high fived each other mentally in who could write the best insults. The slutshaming was really pathetic. Michelle and the blue present stunt and her stupid face on the other hand was a class act on her part. F#cking morons.

I don't care if she made explicit photos because it's none of our damn business.

Hey, it's a controversial job, but someone has to do it! At least Stefano Gabbana had the foresight to dress her in black and put a big ole spider web behind her!

She looks good in the pictures. Some of the outfits that Michelle Obama wore were kind of unimpressive. I don't know who Michele's designers were, maybe they bought from "Old Navy" or something. That place has some of the weirdest commercials.
