It wasn't a war on who has the best rockets. It was sabotaging each other to prevent each other from reaching space since the cold war. Even on economical term. Every time someone sabotages space race, it delays us from reaching space.

I would agree and after the incident today in Russia perhaps Mr. Putin might be willing to talk about it. Mr. Obama had a great opportunity to accomplish this when Russia started their air campaign in Syria but failed to build any consensus much less a coalition and now with the current campaign against any sort of cooperation with Russia I think the opportunity is lost forever, or at least until some other major event occurs.

if you look at Syria photos of places now? There a lot of just rubble. Blitzkreiging it will remove all traces of it as a country called Syria... and it will be no more.... Just a place to park all US/Russian military hardware.

But I have no alternative other than that either. War is hell....

I know its a bit hollywoodish to say but I doubt humans would ever unite under one banner unless a threat from outter space would materialize. Best thing an advance alien civilization could do to help us is bomb earth for a few weeks with their weakest weapons
