The government had a opposing political partys building raided. To be clear it was a rubber bullet that killed the man. Either way no shots should have ever been fired. No one looked to be armed.




A Paraguayan opposition political activist was shot in the head and killed when police raided his party headquarters during riots against a contested electoral reform, the movement's leader said Saturday. Rodrigo Quintana, 25, leader of the opposition Liberal Party's youth branch was shot as police searched the premises in the capital Asuncion, party leader Efrain Alegre told reporters. The interior ministry said in a statement that "the authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death, which is presumed to have occurred at the hands of a member of the National Police.

This follows the torching of the Paraguayan parliament building. This is over a new law - voted on in secret - that enables the President Haracio Carteto be re-elected. This is against the current constitutional arrangement that limits terms.

Difficult times for Paraguay's young democracy, though little is gained by violent rioting and consequential violent reaction to stop the said rioting.

Rubber bullets are just as hard hitting as throwing a rock with your bare hands. and depending on the range are just as deadly as real bullets.
