"Your lack of understanding humour is not my problem.

So people making jokes are akin to throwing urine filled water balloons at Pauline Hanson supporters?

Uhhh ok, good for you. "

Come on Chad, you made a joke, did you? only when pulled up on it, yeah?

Nah, I see a slithering little leftist, who scurries under the light.

You gonna step up and be real? or stick to your cowardice and indignation when it is thrown back at you?

maybe steve urkel would be a better avatar, certainly not wolverine.

And who can blame them? Trump’s presidency and the future of the country has been thrown into dystopian status by unaccountable journalists, intellectuals, unelected bureaucrats, and celebrities.

So it's their fault that Trump is gutting the Environmental Protection Agency, signed a bill that would permit coal companies to pollute water, has cut funding to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and is censoring scientific reports from NASA and the NOAA?

Prophecies of fascism, internment camps, Nazis, religious persecution, race wars, nuclear war, civil war and Hitler, were beaten into the heads of trusting media consumers.

And that never happened while Obama was in office.

Perhaps this effete treatise would have had more standing if it hadn't been posted in the Political Mud Pit.

As it was, it is clear that OP means to churn up more bleating partisanship, rather than actually discuss the issues.

That said, there is much truth in the OP, if one can hear it.

Sadly, that truth is only applied to one imaginary "side" of the political spectrum, thereby firmly establishing what could have been a decent piece into more fallacious hogwash.

If you're talking about the deficit bush got it up to -1.5 trillion a year from a 100 billion dollar surplus Clinton left him. Obama got it back to -500 billion, but blame it all on Obama though.

Slithering?

I'm here talking to you aren't I?

I get it, Trump has emboldened the bigots, and you feel safe here in the echo chamber that is ATS, but I ain't slithering anywhere any time soon.

Deal with it.

Here's the questions again..

What do you mean no leg to stand on?

What bias?

Unbelievable the arguments people raise about which side of the coin is right, fair, decent, etc.

Both sides of the same coin. Republicans and Democrats aren't two parties they are the same party, the corporate party.

Yet you guys couldn't see that trump is the biggest scumbag of all. He is as slimy as they come, he speaks and behaves like a child, and relied on the less educated rural republican voter by preying on their antiquated xenophobic fears.

Voters who use such backwards logic as"oh well the media keeps on attacking trump so he must be doing something right"???? Really???? The media did nothing but attack Obama where was all that republican support?

Voters who repeatedly say"Trump speaks to me". With the way trump behaves this tells me the fact that being one of the least educated 1st world countries is starting to have serious implications.

Voters who think that a very expensive wall (1 billion for 48 miles is the last estimate I heard) will stop central Americans from over staying their visas. When we should be going after the companies that hire illegal aliens in the first place.

Voters who think that we need a better vetting process when in fact it already takes 2 years and multiple investigations by multiple agencies from across the world to even step foot into this country as a refugee. When we should be more focused on properly vetting the terrorists that are currently being put into office.

I have no problem saying Hillary should never be our president but I can easily say the same for Trump.

well said.

" preying on their antiquated xenophobic fears" - from talking to people I know this imo is why trump won. good old fashion fear mongering, isn't it great... bunch of pusses.

You are not alone in being ideologically homeless. I am as well and I avoid ideologues at all costs. And thanks to the MSM that is becoming ever more difficult. Its getting harder and harder to stay above the fray. I posit that whats needed is a good, long nation wide street brawl between these two groups to get it out of their systems.

I agree that this could've been posted in a different forum, but I also disagree with your sentiment that OP just wanted some partisan war. I think he knew his OP would (for lack of a better word) trigger a lot of folks and the Mud-Pit allows for an unfiltered discussion which is a good thing if you ignore the obvious partisanship from either side.

False on its face because I do not mention nor apply anything to this or that side of the political spectrum. Your fake rebuttal is only meant to disguise your own allegiances under an imaginary air of bipartisanship.

Point to me the damage, the oppression, the tyranny, because dismantling bureaucracy is considered a good thing in some circles.

As for Obama, yes it is true some elements called him names, but never anything on this scale of mass hysteria.

LOL. The joke is you selling the possibility that you aren't on the left. ROFLMAO, that's gotta be the funniest thing I've heard all day. Yeah man. You're not fooling anyone here. GTFO.

Lol, people keep doing this to me too. I point out one of Donnie's huge flaws and get 'HE WON GET OVER IT LIBTARD!!!!1'

'I'm not a liberal'

'....U R LOL LEFTARD CUCK'

'No, really, I'm not a liberal.'

'YES U R LOL NICE TRY SHILL'

Impossible to argue with such amazing stupidity. Anti trump does not mean liberal. Sorry this ruins your copy/paste narrative but you'll have to deal with it.

The name-calling is abhorrent. It's a sign of weakness and tribalism. And one should be worried when a word like "cuck" enters the political discourse.

I agree with everything you said except the part about not being presidential material. We have, in our short lifes, grown accustom to very polished politicians who lie with a smile and never come through with their promises. The slimey sales people who are only in it for themselves. That is what has been held up as "Presidential Material"

In spite of Trump being an egomaniac jerk, he is actually doing what he said he would. I'd rather make that the new role model for what "presidential material" is vs. the cons we have gotten used to. To me its the issues and how they are being addressed that matter so much more than the personality.

Very well stated and worthy of repeating over and over to be honest. Moderates and Libertarians like myself are pleased so far that he IS doing the things we voted him in to do.. I am miffed at him on some things but he IS NOT HILLARY and thanks to the God of mankind for helping us expose the criminals in DC....

I guess you guys have forgotten about the past 8 years where the right was constantly bashing Obama and complaining about him while the Republican party tried to obstruct him the entire way?

Seems like you're getting a taste of your own medicine and can't handle it from my point of view.

100% cognitive dissonance, ignoring your own past so that you don't have to acknowledge your current hypocrisy.

ETA: And NO, that does not mean I excuse what is happening on the anti-Trump front in certain respects.

You mean the 8 years that were all Bush's fault? Selective amnesia was not what those of us in the middle have.

Yet every time the word "liberal" is said, what feeling do you get? Be honest with yourself.

I consider myself "liberal".

Words do not trigger me.

Actions often do.

And as a Social Liberal but fiscal conservative, I know what the left socialist's who have proven to be haters of freedom of there fellow humans are up to when they steal that word. It is to confuse the ill informed and nothing else.

The problem is constant obstruction and delays by both sides, the GOP did it to Obama, the Dems are doing it to Trump.
And then the sides fall into line. That's why I really admire the democrats that are going to break with their party to vote for Gorsuch. The same goes for the GOP guys who voted against Trump and Ryan on the health care bill. We need more independent voting going on. Then when something is actually good for America both sides can feel free to vote for it, or if it's bad against it.

I always find it interesting when the left justifies verbal attacks towards Trump. "They did it to Obama". Really? Not on this level: tv shows, movie stars, news stations, those in the government, local news stations and local papers etc etc. On a daily basis, nonstop. They have a bigger audience than some random guy on Facebook calling Obama a monkey or Michelle a man.

Reminds me of a drowning person, they have no energy, tired, but still moving around trying to grab anything.

The cult nonsense is also laughable. I remember when Obama was running for president, you had people on tv saying they wanted to vote for Obama: "because he was black". (ignoring his mother's apparently white) Both from whites and black by the way. Some even made him out to be the next Jesus Christ. I remember seeing a portrait of him to look like a saint with the religious halo. The countless interviews of the guy and very rarely would the media ask anything serious. One woman asked him "Where do you get your confidence from?" fawning over him.

Than they get angry over Trump using Twitter (something he's always done)
