We anarchists are all over ATS. The dimwitted CTRL-Left regularly assumes we're "conservatives" or (worse still) Republicans because of our outspoken criticism of statism and hardline anti-government position.

Yes, one can be a pro-life anarchist. The state isn't needed to protect the lives of the unborn, nor is it necessary to mete out justice to murderers.

No, we don't run around in black hoodies throwing rocks at storefronts. Those are usually hardcore statists and government agents acting as provocateurs.

It should be no wonder that we've been given a bad and/or false reputation. Power never relinquishes itself willingly, and when you're against all forms of it you tend to make enemies everywhere.

I claim no political identity and don't know where I would fall on the spectrum.

I always figured anyone with half a Brain was moderate, at least.

If you are thinking clearly and freely than the idea of either of those polarities is obsurd imho.

As far as anarchist and minarchs and such... well.. I appreciate their ambition and self confidence.

One must be in the middle to have half a brain? That is not logical.

I've been all of the above at some point in my life. Right now I belong to the anti-establishment party. I don't like politicians, think DC is a swamp and wouldn't trust them to run a self-service gas station. Money and greed has gone unchecked for too long and has made whores out of politicians, journalists, scientists, and a lot of other professions. I believe the only cure for what ails us is to decentralize the government as much as possible, eliminate lobbyists, drastically reduce the amount spent on black projects in particular and the military in general, and put price caps on necessities like medication and health care.

Where are the liberalists(aka classical liberals)?

We're here...
Classical liberals most often gets mistaken for conservatives on ATS.
If you are for limited government and pro-gun they just file you with the conservatives.
Not even caring if you are also pro-choice, pro-cannabis, and anti-war.
I tried to get them to understand this a few months back.
A plea for reformation of the left.
But the identity politics game rages on here.

I am pro choice, pro cannabis and pro gun (with reasonable limits), I am anti war. I have never been mistaken for conservative.

I am one.

In fact I see both Trump and the Liberal Coastal Elite as dangerous to society.

I'm a Conservatarian. I would mostly consider myself a libertarian, but their stance on immigration and trade is so naive, I can't fully align myself with them. I don't like all the social issues that Conservatives push, and so I can't align myself with them either.

Middle is complacent.

Centrist on the other hand: : a person whose political opinions are not extreme : a person whose beliefs fall between those of liberals and conservatives

IMO Centrist is one who looks at each issue independently. One who chooses what is logical and progressive (forward moving).

That makes sense. I look at each issue separately. My personality demands it. Maybe I am a Centrist.

This is actually an interesting thread, am seeing 4 or 5 on here that I have had serious discussions with in the past, and we could probably sit down over a few beers and beat some things out.

I am pro-pro-pro too and I am anti Stupid war.

Why do we have war? I would say - - sometimes there is rational to have war. Am I seeing it now? I do not know.

Is terrorism a legitimate war? Uh . . . who determines who is a terrorist?
