Sadly you are going to see an escalation in this kind of white on black crime, look at how many serial killers are white and you will get the picture. With all this political correctness and the anti white rhetoric in all forms of media its only fomenting more serial killers to lash out. There would be 10's of thousands of potential serial killers that given enough stimulation, the right circumstances and a "Falling Down" style life changing event to commit heinous crimes and being shoved all the BLM crap target the darker skinned races.

Its almost like the System is designed to always disenfranchise a specific group and have it rise up in anger to create chaos.

I see why the headline and story. A fairly unusual story in our society makes it worthy. --Not so much about the sword thing, however.

ATS owners: I personally don't trust mods that show strong convictions and controls over those of us that have strong convictions but no control over anybody.

I agree that any prison he is sent to won't have too many whites in it. I believe that there is a good reason for that.

Couldn't agree more, there is a bigger issue at play here. There is a growing racial divide, not just in America but the world over, this needs addressed before it gets out of hand and we start seeing things like this, tit-for-tat, back and forth between racial groups on a larger, more frequent scale.

It's true, I didn't read the story because you didn't post a link to it. No big deal, IgnoranceIsBliss had you covered.

As for NY being the media capital of the world, I would still think that this story would have gotten as much media coverage if it had happened in Baltimore. Also, I think repeatedly stabbing someone with a sword would attract more attention than a single gunshot in NYC.

I try to picture in my head the two main possibilities. Either this guy is super racist and is just out to kill black people, or he is clinically insane. Neither one seems to fit the facts to me. Why stop at one victim, one who doesn't really match the target demographic you are looking for? Why turn yourself in?

Here are some things I would like to see answered:

They said he was an Army vet. How long was he in? What was his specialty? Where was he stationed? Was there any history of racist behavior in his service record?

Was he currently on any medication? One common theme among most mass killings is that the perpetrator was on some sort of mood altering medication. This wasn't a mass killing, but this guy used a short sword instead of a gun.

I'm not saying there aren't racist white people out there, but the details of this story just don't seem to fit the scenario of just another racist, or just another crazy person, or even a combination of the two.

I tend to agree about media coverage if it happened in Baltimore. I also think a sword is harder to conceal than a gun. Then again I doubt you and I think the same way as someone who can walk up to a random stranger and take their life, surely people who can think very differently to those of us who are more 'normal'.

I found this regarding his military career...

He received an honorable discharge from the Army in 2012 as a private, the New York Post reports. Along with his time serving in Afghanistan, Jackson was also stationed in Germany.

Police told the Associated Press Jackson served from March 2009 to August 2012 and was a military intelligence analyst. He was deployed to Afghanistan from December 2010 to November 2011.

Jackson studied at Ohio Wesleyan University in 2007, but it’s not clear if he graduated, the Post reported.
