Okay, I am not going to belabor this right now exactly,
but. This movie - indeed the tale itself (which was established LOOOooong before "Disney" glommed onto it) - is as old as time.

All the hype, and the live-action thing. I think I am going to go see it tomorrow, all by myself. Just to watch it, and think and critique and cry if they make me, and laugh when they manage it.....

but there is no question this is a political maneuver meant to help us heal. Can we do it? Gawdamiteee, I hope so.

I'm in if you all are in.....

And then, there's Edward Scissorhands.....

Yeah, and the last few years, we've had "Gravity" --- yikes! Space!!

And Hunger Games *suck in breath between teeth*

This stuff really does influence society.
This new Disney thing Beauty and The Beast is the most profitable movie EVER.....

we need peace.

All the same...these movies make us laugh, and make us cry, and make us look at ourselves.
These movies, and the media, project to us HOW WE ARE.

Sometimes old themes re-emerge as relevant.

And then, there's Far & Away

and Sophie's Choice

and Rob Roy

and
and so many others!!!

We have to get out from under this classist/racist history. It is HISTORY. Why does it have to be current events????
