This is not new , but this should be dealt with in a President Duterte , Phillippino kinda way !

Prosecutors in Belgium have recently announced that
executives with pharmaceutical companies based in the
country will be charged with knowingly providing drug
cartels with prescription drugs that were used to manufacture
methamphetamine. The companies are accused of providing
the Mexican drug kingpin Ezio Figueroa Vazquez with several
tons of ephedrine, knowing that it would be used in the
production of methamphetamine.

thefreethoughtproject.com...

“The company made two shipments of two million pills containing
pseudoephedrine in 2006. These medicines were freely available then.
My clients delivered to a reliable commercial partner and had no idea
of the inappropriate use of the drugs,” a representative of Andacon said.

And don't get me started on the legal way to junkify kids in the Ritalin ADHD
overdiagnosed kinda BS ....

Just sayin .....

Ok. Just shoot everybody who criticizes the government and say they were dope dealers.
Perfect. We don't need no stinking court system.

What a load of BS.

Its basic Organic Chemistry. If a Pharmaceutical company is that ignorant they should not be manfacturing drugs in the first place!

Doesn't history show us that the governments that go hardest against drug dealers are the ones that are just eliminating the competition?

Could have been a gas station chain, for all they knew, would be a good argument anyways....

MiniThins used to be in all the gas stations right in your face at the checkout.

Yes well in the Financial Services there is emphasis on knowing your customer and Anti Money Laundering checks. They are not brilliant but they are the best we have.

A similar set of thinking can be done for the pharmaceutical company. It would not be perfect as there are always those who will look the other way.

So kill 'em all then, eh? The Metallica method of drug law enforcement?

How about they just legalize it and financially cripple the cartels?

Nah, that would be too logical and peaceful a solution.

I wonder. This has been my position all my life but now I'm not so sure. Once drug addicts were a socially marginalized minority. Today, mainstream America is increasinly addicted and the pushers are doctors and pharmaceutical firms. It's already legal -- and it's hell.

Nah. As long as addicts can get their fix they are fully functional member of society.

I hear.

"Legal" does not mean handing control over to the doctors and pharmaceutical companies.

It means free for anyone to produce and distribute.

It also means you consume at your own risk and assume full responsibility for the consequences of your actions.

Ok, but since we have declared that corporations are people, and if this corp. is convicted, does it then somehow become illegal for US companies to buy drugs from known felons?

The supreme court did declare corporations are people yes?

People go to jail/prison for breaking laws yes? well sometimes....

Are corporations people only when donating money to political parties?

Kinda derailing the thread if we continue this line of discussion to far but my point is if anybody is convicted the corp. should be considered a felon under US law nd anybody in the US should be denied dealing with such felons

I am kind of curious though about mail order drugs. So if I or somebody I love gets sick, medicine here in the US is to expensive or non existent, can I legally just call another country and have them shipped to me or is it only illegal in the US?

Being rather experienced in these areas, I can't decide which sin Big Pharma is more guilty of: doping the population with benzodiazepenes, or facilitating the production of meth. Meth makes the populace more productive -- and shorter-lived. Xanax et. al. make the populace go to sleep, and become extremely forgetful.

Both classes of drug--amphetamines and downers, basically --are used to control the populace. Neither is going away. Please don't use them, folks, if you can avoid it.
