I've just had the BEST idea. It could make me millions, realistically speaking. I've yet to write it down and I haven't told anyone yet. And no, I won't tell you.

This is a request for advice.

I do not trust lawyers. Not one bit. Well, not yet at least.

So, how do I go about securely bringing about this idea without someone thieving it?

Does anyone have any experience in new product marketing or to-market strategies? ...SECURE strategies?

Send me the blueprints, and I will let you know if the idea is viable...

First step, write it down, date it and take it to a notary.

Then contact a patent attorney.

first - address your rampant paranoia

second - proceed with your plan like a rational person

Another way is to mail it to yourself and keep the envelope which shows the actual date stamp it was processed. Do not open it. Obviously, what you mail to yourself is a copy but the time and date stamp is preserved.

That sounds good. I know a notary, close family friend. Well, maybe. Maybe she would totally backstab me.

What paranoia?

A combination of both of these sounds perfect. Get the original notarized, make a copy, mail it and leave it sealed. I went to one of those patent things once, and she had a paper that she had me read which she had signed. It was a non-disclosure form for herself assuring she could not take the idea and run away with or discuss with anyone without my permission.

It was fun, and educational experience. I never went through with what I had in mind as it pretty much had to do with technology that was becoming obsolete at the time, and pretty much is now (CD's) .

But I never have a shortage of ideas, so there may be something else some day!

It's already too late. I've had those ideas a few times in my life too. Someone somewhere is tapping your mind or the cosmic consciousness makes it so all ideas are already known and once you have it so do others. So you're not the only one. Somewhere someone else also had that thought too.

All you can do now is act on it as quick as possible. Otherwise someone else will and you're screwed. That's if it hasn't already been done which is possible. Google it to make sure.....But of course then it's out there.....

Why do you want the BEST idea to be secret?

Just don't tell anyone, and you can keep your secrets.

Anyway, you're being tappped, there are no secrets anymore.

And if your idea is worth anything to anyone, go make your million dollars and realise that someone just may make your idea better. And make another million or more. Does youur BEST idea help anyone except you?

I only want it kept secret until I can figure out how to monetize it.

* Thinks to myself, if only I could turn my thoughts into money, I could afford not to think anymore *

The real question I meant to ask, does this help YOU or OTHERS.

That's where you can find the money

I can't help laughing. I don't know if this thread is a joke or you're serious.

At some point you will need to trust someone.

Maybe if you talk to a lawyer and film the meeting? That way he / she can't steal your idea.

Here's my advice:

Go to a nice bar, find a cute girl, and use this very line on her while ordering her a drink. Good luck

You could try not alerting people that you have an idea worth ripping off.

Security through obscurity.
