Back it or else was the message from the administration , seems that threat failed to do the trick with reports are breaking that the bill to replace the Affordable Care Act has been withdrawn in the face of certain defeat.

Trump's healthcare vote withdrawn after Republican leaders fail to gain enough support for Obamacare replacement
www.bbc.co.uk...

I believe the Republicans saw it was a poor alternative to the existing Act , if Obamacare is to be replaced it should be replaced by something better , peoples lives are at stake.

It sounds like nobody was really happy with the bill.

I said it before: I'd much rather they take their time and come up with a good replacement. Don't rush thru something stupid just so you say you dumped Obamacare.

It's nice to see a victory for common sense and decency in the age of Trump.

It's worse than that. Cowards without a brain is what Republicans are proving themselves to be!

All they had to do is allow healthy people to buy whatever policy they wanted, and let all the unhealthy and/or poorer people jump into Medicare, or Medicaid. 100 pages of legislation would do it.

Republicans make the Democratic party led by Schumer and Pelosi look UNITED and STRONG!

Pretty convinced this was all an attempt to draw all the air out of the room by trying to rush through the replacement bill in just yet ANOTHER feeble attempt by the Trump administration to draw attention away from the growing Russian-Collusion scandal. Or, it's just another Trump failure, with many more to come. This administration is completely incompetent.

Looks like someone needs a remedial course in basic US politics.

It is the job of the speaker to get the votes.

Ryan failed, not Trump.

I think it was probably as simple as wanting to be able to say "welp we tried but Congress sucks, blame them!" and trying to look like they're at least trying to do what they promised they would do.

Not in the least. President Trump is used to losing and winning. Just look at his history. After a defeat you move on to the next success. It's a cycle that most successful people are accustomed to. Maybe you'll have the fortune of experiencing it one day, Shamrock6.

This is great. THIS is what should have happened with Obamacare. The last administration just rammed things through while people weren't even aloud to read what was in the bill for # sake.

It's good to finally see some accountability and common sense being brought back into government.

Are you sure about that or did you prematurely pick up your pom poms?

Koch Brothers’ group vows millions to Republicans who vote against health care bill

I actually for once agree with the Koch's!

Just repeal it. That's it. No replacement.

We want our old doctors back. We want our old premiums and deductibles back.

Stop figuring out how to repay your donors and just repeal Obamacare, replacing it with nothing.

Isn't it more the case that something as complex as healthcare legislation takes months if not years to perfect , checks and balances are needed when peoples lives are concerned , Trumps bill was cobbled together in a matter of weeks and would probably fall apart in similar speed.

Even poor unhealthy people vote.

Ryan handed it off to Trump yesterday. "You're the great deal maker-negotiator...you close em Mr. President!". That's what an exasperated Sean Hannity was saying yesterday.. That Ryan was no better than Boehner.

Yes, but let's see how long that lasts with Ryan and the establishment boys pushing crap to please their big donors.

The GOP flimsy bill is like replacing chemotherapy with a sledgehammer

The GOP is doing a fine job of running the country

Running it right into the ground

Just wait until the tax cuts for the rich come about
