Its not just this 4chan post. Look at this headline.

The media wants to portray this as a shooting/shooter as opposed to a guy with a knife, but I'm not sure why, anti-gun agenda?

Is it more sensational/scary if the guy has a gun vs a knife?

If this was a false flag, was the patsy supposed to use a firearm to fit the story line?
