Lockdown as gunshots heard outside Parliament
Eyewitnesses describe seeing a man with a knife within the confines of the Palace, while the journalist Quentin Letts described seeing a "parliamentary security men shoot a man who had attacked a policeman".

This is the moment Parliament was suspended as "sounds similar to gunfire" were heard outside

This live stream should be good for an hour or so from time of posting.

Wow, 2 hrs ago it happened.

Westminster Bridge, witness says he saw a car crash and someone on the ground.

Way early to get any good info like names and motivations.

Cop stabbed, perp shot.

Sorry, that's about all so far.

From the pic you embedded, it looks like the vac helo landed on the lawn outside parliament, the only place it could to lend aid to victims from the nearby bridge (visible in the background).

ETA: The Sun is updating info as it become available, theres video in the link I provided above and pic showing the car crashed against the gate.

It is rather breaking news as far as I know. Seems like it happened moments ago only.

There was an "almighty crash" as a vehicle hit the railings outside Parliament, a witness tells Sky News

Seems like two different locations, Westminster Bridge and inside Parliament. BBC Breaking News Link

Seems that there are several victims on the bridge, from being run down.

Wow, I see a couple of something that looks like sheets, over people that are lying in the street.

15 or so ambulances and EMT crews, they say.

It's starting to sound pretty bad.

I call terrorism on this one, the radical fundamentalist kind ... possibly recently imported too.

I'm thinking the same.

MO is familiar.

One person shot and one officer injured.

If its a terrorist act it rather under powered.

looks more like a lone gun man, possible whack job type scenario.

Gotta hit the hay.

"I'll be bak"

Prayers to the victims.

Apparently it may be two different incidents which could suggest a measure of coordination.

Situation looks contained all the same.

Have they reported him yelling Allahu Akbar yet or are they not releasing that at the moment?

And the distinction between "terrorist" and "whack job" is...?

One has mental health issues to contend with the other has religious dogmas that plague the brain so i suppose they are rather synonymous in effect.

To early to know if there are terrorists at play yet it may just be someone disgruntled over Brexit for all we know.

Sounds like a act of terrorism even at this early stage, shots fired and a car mowing people down sounds like a coordinated attack

Ether that or a hell of a coincidence.

Considering the potential targets of opportunity one would imagine they would have come rather more prepared.
