Late tuesday night the ailing pope was taking to the hospital Italian media is reporting. The Pope had beein fighting the flu recently and had to cancel activities for the past 2 days.

ROME (Reuters) - Pope John Paul was taken to hospital late on Tuesday, Italian media including national news agency Ansa and Sky Italia television said.

The pope fell ill with influenza on Sunday and was forced to cancel all his engagements over the past two days.

There was no immediate comment from the Vatican.

The Pope has been very ill for a while now, but has been pushing foward with his duties with amazing strength. One hopes that he now has the strength to fight off the flu which kills many elderly people every year due to complications. I wish him the best.
