Trump's tweets show just how badly we need an independent special prosecutor for this matter. A prosecutor that won't be influenced Trump or "forced" by his abuse of power tactics!

Well by all means yes on the special prosecutor. First things first
who has committed a crime? Spy boss says no collusion on Trump
Teams part, so I doubt they will get on on that.

Maybe looking into the leakers?

We will see if the Dems would go for that?

The leaks are the only crimes that are proven.

That should be first priority, get the leakers.

Even if you think the committee members were fed extra questions based on tweets, it isn't likely. It would be fairly ironic if they responded to the idiot in Chief's tweets when part of the questions were to get clarity on made up tweets of his in the past.

Ironic it is then. Transcript via WaPo

Cheers!

HIMES: OK. So thanks to the modern technology that's in front of me right here, I've got a tweet from the president an hour ago, saying the NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence the electoral process so that's not quite accurate, that tweet?

COMEY: I'm sorry, I haven't been following anybody on Twitter while I've been sitting here...

HIMES: I can read it to you. It says the NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence electoral -- the electoral process. This tweet has gone out to millions of Americans, 16.1 million to be exact. Is the tweet, as I read it to you, the NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence the electoral process. Is that accurate?

COMEY: Well, it's hard for me to react to that, let me just tell you what we understand the -- the state of what we've said is. We've offered no opinion, have no view, have no information on potential impact because it's never something that we looked at.

HIMES: OK. So it's not too far of a logical leap to conclude that your -- that the assertion that you have told the Congress that there was no influence on the electoral process is not quite right?

COMEY: Right, it wasn't -- it certainly wasn't our intention to say that today because we don't have any information on that subject. And that's not something that was looked at.

HIMES: Right. Admiral Rogers, before I -- before I yield back to the ranking member, there's another tweet that says NSA Director Rogers tells Congress unmasking individuals endangers national security. My understanding was, as a member of the committee, that there is a lengthy and very specific process for the unmasking but that it does not inherently in of itself endanger national security.

ROGERS: I assume the comment is designed to address the leaking of such information, but again, I -- I have not read what you're saying to me so I'm not in a position to comment on it, sir.

HIMES: Thank you, I'll yield back to the ranking member www.washingtonpost.com... ction/?utm_term=.26b1410f9e7a

Cant be that hard to find the authors name from the NYT.

Or those other fake news sites that piped out the
classified information.

James Rosen (at Fox) should do a 4 hour special on the whole affair !!

(Let's see who remembers Rosen)

Indeed.

Obama had no problem shutting down the press he
did not like, even tainted them with the "leaker"
investigations! I want to believe The FBI will pursue
the real crime here.

Gowdy mentions a few names here, starting about 9 min
in, very enlightening.

I am posting a few older links to the original leaks,
which came from the NYT.

NYTimes

The situation escalated late Thursday when word reached the White House that The Washington Post was reporting that the transcript of Mr. Flynn’s call showed that he had discussed sanctions, contrary to his assurances to Mr. Pence and others.

The Timeline of Michael Flynn’s Phone Call With Russia: Who Knew What, and When

www.nytimes.com...

That just happens to be exactly what Gowdy is talking about.

Dated Feb 14th, and contains the very names and words he
was conversing with Comey about.

Also an interesting read here:
Obama Advisor Ben Rhodes Wrong: Obama Can Order A Wiretap

In which Comey explained in detail on the video; how the Obama
White house could have ordered a wire tap.

Clapper was not a Trump Supporter by any means.

What's that have to do with anything??

Doesn't change the fact he actually said the opposite from what Alex Jones put out..

Sorry but they weren't responding to his tweets because they were locked in a congressional hearing. I know trump doesn't realize that but I thought most people would.
I already said they mentioned one tweet when they came back from a break at hour four. That was it.
trump again. Oh I'm the center of the universe look at me God's gift to the world...
Well no one in that hearing gave a flying fig what the liar in chief was tweeting.

He cuts through the bull.

I think this calls for lie detector tests, I agree with Rand Paul!

“It is very, very important that whoever releasedthat go to jail,” Paul said. “Because you cannot have members of the intelligence community listening to the most private and highly classified information and then releasing that to The New York Times.”

The Kentucky lawmaker also noted there are only be a handful of people who could have done this. Therefore, he wants them all to come in and “take lie detector tests” to get the the bottom of this all.

www.mediaite.com...

That handful of people Gowdy mentioned, and the Gang of 8.

I was referring to the former cheif who the article said that there was nothing there..

How would he know..

I am assuming he is a trump supporter because why would a former head not involved in the investigation make a comment on one, unless he was a supporter..

Comey had to clarify that they didn't investigate if Russia's acts had influenced voters at all

Interesting take away. Wouldn't you say?

Because as a deflection, exactly like the OP, they keep pretending the conspiracy theory is that Russia rigged the machines..

No one has said Russia hacked the machines..

They are pointing at one thing and pretending it's the other..

Because he found nothing, all of the agencies he oversees found
nothing to support the investigations merits.

When your that high up in the IC, why blow it to cover
for Loretta and Bill on a plane, or Obama?

Then what?

Who said leaks of classified material are not a crime?

You do understand this is not an equivalent to the DNC
and Podesta leaks? Those dodgy shifty campaign emails were
not classified.
