Trump Supporters’ Campaign To Boycott Hawaii Dramatically Backfires

How many of his supporters can actually afford Hawaii tho. Either way seems like the locals are just fine with it.

I'm not sure a trending hashtag constitutes a boycott. They should have made an app like the Democratic Coalition Against Trump, which they can use to feel better about themselves, while at the same time changing very little but the data on their phones.

They say that in the last 10 years Hawaii has accepted a total of 4 refugees into their state.

Funny how you just explained how Trump got elected in the first place...
And you're probably right!
I bet most of his supporters can't afford to visit because they are so busy working to support their families and pay taxes so basement dwellers such as yourself can sit around bash them online.

Very liberal of you to make fun of poor people.
Here is your ignorance award.

Hilarious... boycott a state???

Somehow I don't think that will go over well.

I was going to say before reading that the locals feel like their ways and their bloodlines are being pushed out of their own homes and their own land. So I doubt they would care lol!

After reading it well....

Well how did it backfire?

Did the (gasp!) hashtag make Hawaii and its judge more powerful?

Not to mention that Tweets now constitute something "dramatic". Life must be good if a "dramatic backfire" is no more than a series of tweets.

For each additional dollar someone earns they become less likely to vote democrat. Opposite with being gay. Nonetheless I will pick on a liberal this evening in your honor.

I think these forums have proved that in order to talk to trump supporters one must forget about logic, use insults and amalgams of all sort in order for them to understand and be on the same page.

I feel like this thread is click bait... Twitter isn't real life and even so a boycott cannot "backfire" 24 hours after it is started. I'm not fan of Trump but really? Is this necessary?

On balance, most boycotts are an embarrassment. More for those trying to make other people act the way they want them too than what ever or whomever is the target of the boycott.

One day, Hawaii will become part of the US of A. yes.

It will be a state.

then we can ignore it like California.

Yep! When talking to Trump supporters, you don't high, you go low. And then shower afterwards.

A boycott of a place people usually make plans to visit months ahead of time already backfired?

Lol. You mean everyone that actually has a job?

Blocking a road while hollering NOT MY PRESIDENT isn't a job.

Or just don't.

A strange, troubling phenomenon has come to light among intelligent, thoughtful people following this election. People who have made the cognitive error of over-identifying with their vote. They have become tribal and run to their respective corners.

To steal a worn out saying: "A vote, once cast, can never be retrieved". I have voted for people who turned out to be colossal or - perhaps worse - mediocre failures. I have never had a problem separating my vote from that politician's performance. To try and justify your vote with a breathless defence of the indefensible is a waste of breath. To do it using that politicians own propaganda should be embarrassing.
