Except Merkel is beholden to the unelected bureaucrats of the EU. She could learn a thing or two from Trump.

Merkel speaks fluent Russian too !!

She learned it at schools she attended in East Germany.

Meh. All I wanna know is whether she brought any Döner kebab or not.

I love those!

One of the absolute best drinking foods ever.

One of the best foods, period, as well. But man those things hit the spot after a night out.

They taste even better the morning after.

I wish I could go back to Landstuhl just for the food!

*sigh*

My ex wife introduced me to them when we were dating. The third best thing she ever did for me, right behind "bearing two kids." Lol

Hangover food? I've been told that, but never had occasion to try it myself. Fortunately I don't really suffer that particular malady and I'm not entirely convinced a Döner is quite worth trying to get a hangover just to find out for myself lol

oh god Martin. Really? Why would you even come here?
The title alone should have discouraged you.

What? Honey I really don't understand.
Yeah. I know, Honey.
We all know you think I've lost my marbles.

What would you like to discuss, aside from defending Trump?
Because, I don't want any part of defending Trump.

So you just wanna bash Trump? You actually have no desire to discuss the meeting?

She reportedly has studied Trump’s speeches and policies in advance of her trip, eager to find areas for cooperation. Steven Keil, a fellow with The German Marshall Fund of the United States, said Merkel has little reason to dwell on Trump’s past comments.

“Merkel is extremely pragmatic in her approach here, but she’s also going to have some situations in which it will be tough for her to give too much,” Keil said.

It looks like Merkle did her homework before their meeting. She is trying to find points that will help them build a relationship. I think this is a wonderful thing between two countries and can be very good.

News flash OP:
Just because you all declare something on the left doesn't make it so...
I know you have had your way for years riding rough-shot over people but you better get used to the word NO.

Do you have any idea what the term "free world" is even referring to?
I'll give you a hint it isn't the nation with the most virtue signaling.
It's the one nation on the planet that is doing the most to prevent the world from descending into chaos. In this case it's America with it's world policing and arming NATO.
I don't agree with these policies.
But sadly it is where we are at.
If America withdrew all it's troops from around the globe it would Iraq and ISIS X1000. I don't expect the left to understand this since they still seem confused at how ISIS got so out of hand in the first place.

Well...yes, that's all this thread is for. Bashing Trump. And the right. And men.

Surely this isn't the first buzzy thread you've been in, is it? They're sorta cookie-cutter these days....

Meanwhile...Prez Trump is trying not to throw up in his mouth a little when he ponders the floundering global sellout across from him.

Having said that, I do love and respect women. Having said that, I reject Merkel, and Hillary too for that matter, on their character as leaders; they come up lacking.

Ivanka or Tulsi Gabbard, however, are the type I think we need more of.

A woman should never be given credit just because she is a woman...just like a man should never be given credit for just being a man.

We were born this way, what did we do? Nothing.

Sex means nothing! It is the character within the person that counts!

He being dressed in 2k suits, 1k shoes $500 hair manipulations and still looks like a dork.

So you need Trump to feel manly?

Eesh

Are you propositioning me? Well I never.....

Did I misread those reports of "Mad" Merkel asking Germans to "beat Terror with love and compassion"?

I honestly don't know whether you are being genuine or sarcastic there.
But yes -- that is EXACTLY the kind of "madness" we need. Peace on earth - goodwill toward .....

nah. Never mind.

The German analyst beamed in from Germany during today’s CNBC’s Fast Money show stated that German media is giving positive coverage citing ample similarities between the two leaders, including pragmaticism, and an ability to envision a problem beginning-to-end, and end-to-the beginning.

what? Jay, I think you have totally missed the entire point, and while I appreciate your unfiltered reverie there, I'm not following your logic. You are saying that America is the one nation preventing meltdown?

oh holy wow.....oh my....

I lived in Germany for four years.

My colleague lived there for 10 years.

Germany is not the leader of the free world.

That is all.

I did not write the article's title.
