What are the trigger words for chatting online?

A woman on this forum was nice enough to contact me via PM in the hope of striking up a conversation. I replied to her that I was "too busy" at that moment to get back to her because I was doing a project for work. I was using all of my time to do it. After analyzing the situation, I came to the conclusion that using the words "too busy" turned her off immediately. It was apparent by her reply that she had completely lost interest in a private conversation with me. That assessment turned out to be accurate.

That aparently just happened with another woman who I'm chatting with via email. She had sent three emails within about 12 hours asking me to get back to her as soon as possible. I replied to all of those emails within a day, but I apparently commited the sin of writing that I was replying as quickly as I could but I was "a little busy." She apparently took offense to that. She's probably the busiest person I've known, but she had never used the word "busy" to describe herself. After I used the word "busy" to describe myself, she suddenly used the word to describe herself. Her writing became more distant than usual. She wrote, "I know you're busy" as if I had insulted her. I have little doubt that my use of the word "busy" turned her off. I should have been descriptive in terms of why I was busy rather than using that terrible word.

I've decided that the word "busy" must be left out of my conversations with women online. Are there any other such words?

I have found women think way more about relationships and what was said than men do. I coach high school girls and they literally hang on every word a guy sends them via text etc trying to analyze it for the meaning when the guy probably spent 2 seconds typing the reply and didn't give it a second thought.

Not that this helps you, but you really have to be cognizant of what you say when talking to women...they think way more than we do about pretty much everything when it comes to relationships.

What is wrong with the word "busy" when it comes to online communications?

I've never had a problem with that word in real life.

Does anyone actually date anymore?

Been married for so long I feel like I've been Madella'd when people talk about dating.

It would be like a friend of mine.. he has this girlfriend who wont let him finish taking a poop without demanding he talk to her through the door. If he says he is trying to poop.. she goes nuts and screeches. Can you imagine years of that?? Good thing he told me he is only messing with her cause of her "proclivities" in the bedroom.. temporarily. WHEW. I feared he would eventually develop some pathological aversion to taking a crap and need to seek therapy.. and enemas.
