Someone left them in David Clay Johnson's mail box and he gifted this to her.

Yeah, they should investigate him for solicitation of the tax returns.

That's a felony charge for him and whoever in the IRS gave them to him.

I noticed on the copy of taxes there is a stamp of "Client Copy". Does that matter? Would both sides have that document or should that one be Trump's copy?

Of course, if someone wanted to cover their butts, ink stamps are cheap.

The leak might have been from the IRS. It might also have been someone in Trump's accounting department, or someone who had a copy for some other reason, such as a bank.

I wonder if MSNBC paid someone for the documents.

Given what they are and what it represented, I'm 99% sure that it was troll bait or a honeypot. MSNBC just happened to be the ones to fall for it.

Could be... Maddow may just have been punked.

I can't see it being as anything else. I guess there could be something in the works to capitalize on this with all of the mass exposure but that has yet to be seen. This makes Maddow and MSNBC look like fools. Complete opposite intended reaction.

Shouldn't they have known this???

Are you forgetting that this is a part of the same bunch that didn't know microwaves were used for anything but ovens? They call themselves journalists. And they call the Donald a clown!

Personally, I don't care about how much Trump paid in taxes any given year. What I am interested in is if he's making money from, or owing to, foreign governments, and if those financial ties or debts could compromise his ability to govern and make decisions based on what's good for the American people, rather than his family business, his business partners or foreign governments he may be indebted to.

And when he turns over his tax returns you'll then begin demanding to see his those of his children, then of his present and former employees....you won't stop. Get a clue---his tax returns are none of your business, any more than your tax returns are any of his business. You don't have the right to see his tax returns.
Richard Nixon started this charade. Trump is ending it. It's a good thing to acknowledge that the right of privacy still exists.

This is just idiocy propaganda. Who cares. Trump has an accountant do his taxes to make sure he pays the least amount to those IRS goons. Totally legal of course. Every last one of you do the same.

Yeah. Legal is what is to be expected.
However, 2 pages of a single 1040 filing don't provide the detail that the supporting schedules would.

You know, details about sources of income? Did the White House furnish that?

“Client Copy”: Did Donald Trump Leak That Tax Return to Maddow?

So. Either Donald Trump leaked this himself, or someone with a “client copy” did. Given that there appears to be nothing embarrassing about the return whatsoever, and the world is laughing at Maddow, my money’s on Trump being the leaker.

If Trump did it, then it's even more funny.

But then again, anyone can get a stamp.

Why would Trump be so stupid as to leave a clue like that?

Unless it's the old triple switchback trick. Second time they fell for it this month.

Sorry about that, Rachel.

Why would they?
Can i ask, are you expecting to see anything in particular if this information was released?

Why not?

Not saying that he leaked it, you understand.

Nope. Not expecting to see anything.

On the other hand, it might help to ease my worried mind about financial links to foreign entities. Or even domestic entities which might benefit from his domestic policies.

I'm guessing your mind would be more worried if you seen them taxes.

Because you can't argue with all the fools in the world, it's easier to let them have their way, then trick them when they're not paying attention.

It sounds as if she is pulling the MSNBC trolley into CNN Land.
I am aware that horses pulled trolleys in the old days, but I did not say that she looks like a horse.

Well, ya know what.

At the gym I accidentally set my news station to the wrong station.

I'm like - - what is wrong with my station. It was bitch, bitch, everything's wrong - - negative, negative. Yeah, FOX.

I'll keep my CNN and MSN

Rachel is great. Love her. Always very well researched.

Not this time LOL.

Obviously leaked by trump Jr or one of their cronies. Sifted through the historic ones to find the most positive one, to distract from the awful changes to healthcare and more relevant issues such as selling houses at double market value to Russians.

He's tax returns are absolutely the business of those who voted for him based on mountains of promises about draining the swamp, and making things fair for all. Then he's selling property to Russians at massively inflated prices, and this isn't our business? Or course it is.

Literally the only reason not to release them, is to hide things. Absolutely no debating that. 'Well it's not a legal requirement so why should I' smacks of guilt to anyone not following blindly. If he has nothing to hide then this would be the easiest way to put the issue to bed. But I sincerely doubt he has nothing to hide.

These are a 1040 from 2005.
I thought the NYT reported on this a year ago.

Donald Trump Got a Big Break on 2005 Taxes
Conservation easement on a New Jersey golf club triggered deduction of $39.1 million

www.wsj.com...

Mar 17, 2016 - Donald Trump was able to deduct $39.1 million from his 2005 federal income taxes by pledging not to build houses on a New Jersey golf ..

Looks Like Wall Street Journal beat MSNBC to the punch. Last year.

Another Link on the story:

www.nj.com...

Public records show Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was able to deduct $39.1 million from his 2005 federal income taxes because he promised not to build houses at his golf club in Somerset County, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

An appraisal determined that Trump National Bedminister was worth $49.5 million if it could be broken into 33 lots but only $10.4 million as a golf course, according to the report.

Tax law allows property owners to impose permanent conservation restrictions and then claim charitable deductions for the reduction in value, the report said.

That is it!

Crap, this is the same crap from last year! Glad I posted it, can't google crap anymore on trump 2005 tax returns without getting pages of crap from the last 15 minutes.

set the search to 2005.

wont get any last minute jokers then

No. The law says our tax returns are private. It is nosy people who want to know other people's business. It is between him and the IRS. It is none of your business.

As I said earlier, if he released all his tax returns then you would demand that everyone else associated with him in any way to do likewise. Then you would demand to see the contents of his bedside table---'cause, you know, he might have some Russians hiding there.

You sound like the sheeple who are all for no-warrant searches---"Well, if you don't have anything to hide you have no worries." Yeah, just keep believing that...
