Interesting reprint of an old Downeast magazine article:

groups.google.com...#!topic/alt.politics.org.cia/HEorc4w63xU

It refers to the early days of Camden Conference:

You're welcome, of course.
I'm currently living in city #31. The best way to get to know the scene is by buddy-ing up to one of the old timers. Casually dropping a reference here and there about projects in Camden but not pushing it, is the best way to find answers. But, I highly advise against asking outright, despite your honest intentions. It could get them talking and make you more of an interest than you would like.

The guy above nailed it. You're never really out. Keep that in mind. Enjoy Maine. The lobster is incredible.

Oh I'm not trying to be Nancy Drew and buddy up with the old timers. LOL I'm simply interested in why there are so many retired spooks there. And I wouldn't be asking anyone anything "outright" (I may be blonde, but I actually have a PhD and I'm a pretty smart girl). You're right about the lobster though. I could live on lobster rolls and Lobster Thermidor.

I wasn't trying to call you stupid, Radar. I didn't think you were. PhD...Very nice.
