Is over. The 'American Girl', her real name being Vanessa, is dead.

The police were hear earlier for a wellness check. I knocked on her doors and called for her. I tried to get in. It took the landlord hours to show up with keys for the cops. They say it looked peaceful.

That is that.

No. The girl in my avatar is from the 1984 movie Nineteen Eighty Four-Suzanna Hamilton. The drawing is of the female lead in the earlier 1984 movie from 1956- Jan Sterling.

Look at where I left off in the short story in my sig and then return to this thread.

You start a thread without enough information and we have to go to another thread to get the full story?

Sorry to hear about this woman dying, maybe of a drug overdose, maybe not. I hope you plan to tell the cops about the meth couple she visited. It may be important.

Saying the police were HERE earlier andI had to knock on doors and windows and the landlord took hours to show up would lead most to believe it was an apartment in a place with apartments and not mine.

I wouldn't have to knock to get into my own apartment. There is a landlord involved. It seems not too difficult to figure out.

The 'meth' part was part of the short story fiction part, a guess. The short story actually goes into what the situation is with those neighbors and it's not meth nor anything illegal.

How do you feel about breaking a lease?

I'm an honor every contract kind of guy, but there is some bad juju going on. The whole thing just feels so dreary. Maybe that's just your writing style, but I sense a severe pall has been cast upon that place.

I really think you should bail. Do you travel light?

But...but...but, there's no closure, no ending! I mean sure, there's the dead girl part, but the dead girl seems but an aside to the overall story at this point.

Was it just me, or did only two pictures (the picture of the basement and the picture of the coal chute) upload on the other thread?

This has the makings of a great tale!

On a side note, I wonder if all places are like that there. My sister lives in your city and you practically described her house to a "T". In fact, I just about jumped out of my chair when I saw the pic of the cops on the street. The house in the picture is remarkably similar to her place...remarkably. I think she lives on more of a hill though.

I thought there was enough information here. I referred to the short story when it seemed some weren't following.
