If so, you should be able to find what process it started.

So what you meant is wired networking? That's a whole different ball game...but as long as you're in control of your network, wired or wireless, you should be fine. Well, add to that your OS as well.

Oh and no need to apologise, we are all getting older by the day. Btw, I remember DOS from the 90s although my first computer already had Wins but the command line is still alive to this day. I heard that they've finally awoken at Microsoft and put in some effort on improving it, which I've missed in previous versions. It seems, that you just can't beat the good old fashioned terminal with GUI.
