Except that's not the case at all. Let me lay out why it's such a big deal. First: There were three requests, the first two which were denied, listed donald trump

Had not seen that Trump's name was on the requests. Can you provide a link for that?

Third: When a FISA warrant is granted, any information that is not pertinent to the warrant is required by law to be minimalized and protections taken to ensure it is never shared. All of these leaks prove that the information was shared. But even worse, if no actionable intelligence is gained (and it wasn't since DJT has not been charged with anything) then ALL information obtained by the warrant MUST be purged. Leaking information shows that it was not. The obama administration is in huge doo-doo. Whether obama goes down, I don't know and highly doubt, but some heads will roll for these oversights and the misuse of this information.

Can you prove the Obama admin was behind the leaks?

And so far no one can say that that even exists .

Right, our friends are whining that "all they want is an investigation" between their statements that "Obama spied on Trump."

That's a special kind of ... confusion.

Yeah, it appears others met with the Russian spy as well, but they did it in public not behind closed doors and for the most part they didn't lie about it and there was nothing going on at the time that made it relevant. Such as they were publicly asking for the Russians to hack peoples accounts (Trump) and there was not an investigation at the time about Russians involved with interfering with an election.

As far as Bill Clinton goes besides Nixon he's probably the second or third biggest liar of a President. So what, that is history Hillary's a lying beech too, but she's done.

Personally I can't stand most lying politicians and believe or not I still have hope (barely) that Trump can turn it around and do our country some good, simply by ignoring the press and just doing his job and quit commenting then being so needy to get attention for everything he does.

Kind of like Hillary's private server and classified emails eh?
That was up until the FBI had a little press conference.

Well, this just got real for the Democrats, Obama, & Clinton.

Congress will investigate.

We know wiretapping was taking place in Trump tower in regards to Russian banking/servers.

So you admit the ic was turned on american citizens?
You do understand that is illegal?
You do understand there are actual criminal penalties for keeping and dissemination of illegally obtained info/data of a us citizen?
Please explain how this is not the same thing nixon did.

I do not know whom exactly was the target of the wiretapping and therefore cannot come to any solid conclusion. Do you know?

If not, how can you compare this to Nixon unless you do have all the info?

Absolutely true. We need more facts before rushing to judgement.

But this does led to a potential slippery slope. If the precedent is set that a sitting political power can wiretap their opponents based merely on a belief they may be colluding with outside entities, I fear this power will be abused both all sides over and over again.

A spook by any other name ... just as transparent.

FISA is for foreign powers? Yes I do.

It seems that someone mentioned Russia here, didn't they?

That is categorically false! There's ample evidence that was collected and analyzed. The "nothing" that you're referring to is the fact that as soon as "they" got wind of an investigation, they shut their server down! But then, they renamed it and the first ping that the new, newly named server got was from, you guessed it! Alfa Bank!

No, Introvert, your liberal blinders are on again ... all they want is another investigation (or ten) so that they can confirm their beliefs that that lying, Muslim, Kenyan, traitor Obama done spied on that Good and Honest, Christian Family Man Donald Trump.

Silly libral.

Agreed. But it is ok for us as just lowly peasants to discuss this. Thats what ATS is about. What we need is those investigating to approach it without rushing to judgements though.

However, aren't you appalled by the medias rush to judgement about the Trump russia connection, or even the fact that russia hacked the DNC without showing us any proof? Isn't this a far more egregious action than ATSers rushing to judgement about these wiretaps?

That is categorically false!

Is that right ?

To summarize, reporting indicates that, prior to June 2016, the Obama Justice Department and FBI considered a criminal investigation of Trump associates, and perhaps Trump himself, based on concerns about connections to Russian financial institutions.Preliminary poking around indicated that there was nothing criminal involved.Rather than shut the case down, though, the Obama Justice Department converted it into a national-security investigation under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). FISA allows the government, if it gets court permission, to conduct electronic surveillance (which could include wiretapping, monitoring of e-mail, and the like) against those it alleges are “agents of a foreign power.” FISA applications and the evidence garnered from them are classified – i.e., we would not know about any of this unless someone had leaked classified information to the media, a felony.

Moreover, spying on the leader of the opposition party just before an election.

Or, working a case that involves possible collusion between a candidate for president and a foreign government to influence the outcome of the election

Tomato - tomahto? I don't think so :-)

Still, dark times. I mean, this situation is not where we want to be at all. Is it?

The Stasi would be proud.

The Stasi would be proud to see Americans investigating a situation wherein Russia and the GOP's presidential candidate were working together to piss on our democracy? I always thought the Stasi's standards were (ahem) somewhat lower than that. Anyway...

Hey, UK - did you see this?:

Have You Noticed? Russian Diplomats "Dying Suddenly" All Over the Place

It's not Breitbart or nothin', but holy crap! Right? What in the Sam Hill is happening out there?

Stop with the inconveient truths, Winword.

This is a done deal. They just need an investigation to confirm their "rush to judgements."

Gloriosky.
