Donald Trump has just directly accused Obama of wiretapping Trump residence.

I want the truth.

I'm not interested in playing politics at this point.

If you are, argue to keep the farce going in the Congress.

If not, argue for an independent investigator/commission to be appointed.

You realise Independent Counsel is a DoJ function , right?

Funny that so many of our friends here thought that this was some great "vindication" of Mr. Trump.

In reality, it's the beginning of the end.

No one can deny, now, that the Congress is directly cooperating with the Executive branch to "make this go away."

We're looking at a Constitutional Crisis like we've never seen.

The only thing that can save this is an independent investigation free of politics.

On this I agree with both you AND UK....it IS a constitutional crisis and I'm sure everyone does want this to "go away".

Also, like he said below

SO much animus that vitriol is going to seep into big decisions. That IS dangerous. At this stage i think it unavoidable.

To which I also agree with.

It could well be unavoidable at this point....But we, FFS, at the very least need to keep OUR heads screwed on tightly so that we can actually avoid the pitfalls of that danger.

What, you think Washington corruption is a problem NOW?
Seriously, the drama is well over the top.

You're sputtering.

Take a break.

Get some air.

This getting embarrassing for you.

Were there not also questions about his ties to shady people involving a hotel in Azerbaijan?

Cannot recall the specific details. I may be mistaken.

Well, at least Trump has not been implicated in those accusations.

That's a plus.

First of all, that's an ridiculously oversimplified statement.

Second, the situation at hand is unprecedented.

Open and direct collaboration between the Congress and the Executive to interfere with criminal investigations?

Time for extreme measures here. Perhaps the Chief Justice is not yet corrupted?

Perhaps a national Grand Jury should be appointed?

There's no direct Constitutional remedy here.

It's so good to see so many of you dropping the pretense that you believe there's an actual investigation going on here.

Hard to have a real investigation when there is nothing real
to investigate to begin with!

Be proud of your shirt.

The people presenting it look shattered. They don't seem to believe what they are saying... after the headline opening they have softened it to speculation...
Poor Anderson Cooper has been given his script.

That is, at least, a slightly clever comment.

See, I knew you could do it ... calm down ... your post count is good for today ... think of soft waters and pastel colors ...

This effin thing is going to split America right down the middle....mark my words. One can hope that cooler heads prevail, but this thing, could get bad. And for those that would question it no, this is not bad...not yet.

You know, for folks who are so dismissive of CNN ... you guys are really, really, obsessed with them.

Do your blood pressures a solid and switch on Fox ... you need to be reassured that all is okay.

Maybe "Judge" Napolitano is back tonight with more "evidence" .... BWHAHAHAHA! ... who am I kidding?

Why should I care about your interpretation of how they "look". That's shallow, partisan and irrelevant.

That is a big accusation from CNN. If it's false, we call it "fake news".

What if it's true? We were told the investigation was "fake news". That turned out to be true.

At this point I think even the most ardent Trump supporter should begin to wake up and take notice.

So Rep King is on O Reilly saying that he has read what Nunes has.

He says it was not taps on Trump team or him, but conversations from others where Trump or his team were mentioned.

He says this had nothing to do with Russians or any illegal actions. However, instead of masking the names of Trumps teams as is supposed to be done, reports including their names were shared to people. So it would be statements like Trumps team member will be meeting with so and so tomorrow, etc, or gossip about what Trump people have said.

He says there are many examples of this happening.

This is highly illegal and immoral for several reasons. First, a US citizen is not supposed to be "unmasked" in these situations unless there is some kind of criminal activity going on. Secondly, this info was leaked to people it shouldn't have been. Third, it a sitting presidents administration surveilling an opponent, and encouraging the dissemination of that info, which then led to leaks.

Bob Woodward (not a conservative) says that this is not what Trump accused Obama of, but that it is a huge deal and could be criminal.
