Donald Trump has just directly accused Obama of wiretapping Trump residence.

My thoughts are if the first person who says 'Obamagate' should be sent to 25 years hard labor.

I'm tired of that suffix. 'Oscargate' 'Trumpgate' 'Cookiegate' whatever it may be enough is enough. Whether he is right or wrong enough with the gates already. Eight out of ten reporters in the press have no idea what it means, and eight out of ten people would know that all politicians keep tabs on each other.

So if at the end of his eight years if President Trump wiretaps on the Democratic candidate, and more than likely shares any information with the Republican candidate, you will be ok with that? Obamagate is to mellow a term although it applies. I think Obama for prison would be better suited.

Here is more... the FISA requests by Obama are known.

www.nationalreview.com...

There has been speculation about who he was targeting, and there has been no concrete evidence that Trump was a target, but if Trump has 'found out' he was being tapped, this story is going to run and will uncover all the other people that were tapped, including more evidence on how General Flynn's calls were released to the press.

This may be the start of the investigation into what Obama was doing leading up to the election, during the hand over, and now.

If this is all true then I don't think what Obama did is illegal, rather just an example of police state tactics. He'll be tried in the court of public opinion, not a courtroom.

wrong doing of their own actions? please be more specific on hating trump and what he's doing for the working class man, already on the whole giving away US jobs, fine example of caterpillar and the raids.. please read up. this is why you lost.

I don't hate Mr. Trump. He is given to strange fantasies at times. Yes, I've heard the unbelievable list of accomplishments he's had in a little over a month before. No, I didn't lose anything.

Now ... all that silliness out of the way ... what do you think about the President's wee-hours Tweets?

Strange fantasies? The FISA requests seem to be legitimate. We'll see. If true, then Obama will have some explaining to do. We'll need to see what he found out and when, and if the surveillance continued without any evidence of wrong doing relating to the original FISA request, how long did it continue and why...

We'll see.
An investigation is required to determine what has been going on.
Trump is correct that this is similar to Nixon ordering the break in at the DNC.

How does anyone know who or what about the FISA proceedings when it is not open to public records. The leaks would have to come from the attorney or judge, pretty narrow field of suspects.

"Because of the sensitive nature of its business, the court is a "secret court" – its hearings are closed to the public. While records of the proceedings are kept, they also are unavailable to the public, although copies of some records with classified information redacted have been made public. Due to the classified nature of its proceedings, usually only attorneys licensed to practice in front of the US government are permitted to appear before the court. Because of the nature of the matters heard before it, court hearings may need to take place at any time of day or night, weekdays or weekends; thus, at least one judge must be "on call" at all times to hear evidence and decide whether or not to issue a warrant.

A heavily redacted version of a 2008 appeal by Yahoo![14] of an order issued with respect to NSA's PRISM program had been published for the edification of other potential appellants. The identity of the appellant was declassified in June 2013.[15]

This is why a full investigation is required to find out exactly what was ordered, when, and how long it has been going on for.

actually...its NOT similar...

the Nixon watergate scandal were people who dressed up as thiefs, broke IN the DNC and stole papers and files.

Maybe its just that times have changed but tapping a phone (if it happened at all) is not putting on all black and breaking & entering...destroying files.
