Yeah, I'm sure Donnie gets $200 manicures. Can't have the tiny hands looking rough now, eh?

The good news though is he wont get his hands stuck in a mason jar trying to get the peanut out.

LOL, yeah, but he probably couldn't get the lid off the jar in the first place. Leverage, you know.

How do you know that he didn't ask his staff to reach out to DOJ, as reported by CNN and linked earlier?

That is how I know.

All outlets reporting this are citing the NYT article as their source. Unnamed American officials arent James Comey. The FBI never put out a statement and Sessions / DOJ never refuted anything.

Now we have unnamed sources.

Why do I think its BS?
* - The FBI is not the only agency that can obtain a FISA warrant.
* - The FBI cant comment on ongoing investigations.
* - FISA and the investigations around it are classified 9 ways from Sunday.
* - Trump never claimed the FBI was behind it.
* - The FBI cant comment on ongoing investigations being conducted by another title 3 agency.

This story started off in the NYT with a specific reference to James Comey:

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, asked the Justice Department this weekend to publicly reject President Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the tapping of Mr. Trump’s phones, senior American officials said on Sunday. Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected, they said, but the department has not released any such statement.

CNN picked up the story as did many other outlets.

Later CNN ran with:

The sources would not say who was involved in the conversations between the FBI and DOJ or what role FBI Director James Comey might have played.

So, an unnamed source saying that someone at the FBI had a conversation with someone at the DoJ.

Then later from CNN:

Comey was aware of those discussions, the US official said, but Comey himself did not reach out to DOJ over the weekend.

So, there is no need to prove a negative. Comey has not said anything, and the liberal media's constant changes to their stories undermine any last shred of credibility they had when using unnamed sources, or 'American officials'.

We're left with the conclusion that we don't know whether Comey reached out to the DoJ, and I am going to wait until he actually says something.

And what about the White House's credibility when they make claims with no sources whatsoever?

Already been discussed. The propaganda from the Whitehouse does not excuse the fake news at CNN.

So CNN is responsible for what the New York Times says now?

Bovine fecal excrement.

CNN's reporting has been consistent. You were mistaken that anything was "walked back" and since you obviously have no knowledge of the inner workings of the FBI, you can't say if anything happened or not as reported.

All you can say, if you were being honest, is that Comey has not addressed he matter publicly.

The there is no such thing as "the liberal media" except in your own mind, and therefore it hasn't made any changes, CNN and the NYT are not the same outlet, except in your rhetoric.

Every media source has bias that varies from story to story, that I will agree with.

But this narrative that NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the Post and the TImes are all the exact same and that their reporting call all be dismissed with a wave of the "fake news" wand is utterly erroneous.

In the same way (and I have been guilty of this) that Fox, Breitbart, Townhall, interminable blogs (what I often call the Echo Chamber) can't be dismissed out of hand either.

Let's try to do better.

No, that's called two different outlets saying two different things.

CNN was consistent in their reporting.

ETA: And no, CNN is not quoting the NYT as their primary source:

The FBI asked the Justice Department on Saturday to refute President Donald Trump's assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump's phones last year, two sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN.

First article from CNN on the matter, linked previously

We have had unnamed sources in sensitive matters for years. It's not a new development, and isn't illegitimate because reporting doesn't match the Trump narrative .

No, they weren't.
Two different stories after the NYT, and they originally ran with the NYT angle.
They jumped in early without any verified information as usual so they could push their fake news agenda.
Got to say though, an angle of an unnamed source talking about a meeting between unknown people is a peach.

Incorrect. CNN stated in the first article linked that the citation was two unnamed sources that had "told CNN."

The fake news network CNN is only ever consistent in one respect - they are shills for the Democrat party.

Okay.

It's irrational to call CNN fake news. It's a rhetorical tool that makes it clear that your argument is lacking.

Feel free to prove that something CNN has reported was inaccurate.

Shills for the Democrats? Heh, your veneer is slipping this morning, Partisan.

No, CNN is critical of Democrats as well as Republicans.

Lets get it right:

The sources would not say who was involved in the conversations between the FBI and DOJ or what role FBI Director James Comey might have played.

So, an unnamed source said that they were told that somebody had a meeting with somebody. Brilliant. Par for the course for CNN.

I would have thought that those that make stuff up would be required to offer proof.. or are you back to asking people to prove accusations again in order for them not to be real?

What we DO know is that Comey has not made a statement.
