Well the news are actually waiting for Obama answer to the tweet, supposedly they are all fired up and ready to answer, but taking their time, I guess to gather the necessary cabinet of lawyers before coming forward.

The other reason I think there is substance to this story is how CNN and other media outlets are responding to it. CNN has been spinning it like no other, including false claims a president cannot order unilaterally a wiretap.

Yes, like using a 'former senior US official inside the Obama administration' as their source.

Ben Rhodes said a president cannot order a wiretap.

Hon we can see with the rabid attacks on Trump since he became president that the crap the last administration have hidden was worth saving and keeping in obscurity.

No wonder the party is disintegrating, none of them wants the crap to be found.

Keep in mind that THEY all were absolutely certain that Hillary Clinton would be president now and none of them would ever have anything to be "worried" about.

Asked about Trump's tweets on Saturday, a former senior US official with direct knowledge of investigations by the Justice Department under the Obama administration denied there was any such investigation of Trump or that his phones were tapped. "This did not happen. It is false. Wrong," the former official said. The official said clearly that Obama could not order this. It would have been taken to a judge by investigators, but investigators never did that, the former official said.

Trump is not alowed to disclose the details of an open investigation.

Are you saying the investigation is done.

How about a grand jury where this will start what are those rules for disclosure?

One thing is to know a candidate is been investigated, another to be the president himself been investigated and still been wiretapped while he is sitting in the white house.

I agree with that. Flipping through the cable news channels this morning it's clear that they're trying to spin this as Trump being "unhinged".

My personal feeling is that for whatever reason, Trump likes burrowing into Barack Obama's head -- something that seems to have been all too easy in the past.

Is it the origins/birth certificate thing? Does Trump have something on BHO and that's the reason for the tapping and tweaking match at this point?

Stay tuned, I guess...

If this is all true then I don't think what Obama did is illegal,

It was illegal when Nixon did it.

Obama campaigned for Clinton on the trail, speaking at the DNC any and all information was mostly likely handed over to her, and her staff.

Collusion to steal an election.

Nope... The issue comes from the time frame established in the FISA warrant and the Obama administration going beyond the time frame established. Wiretaps are NOT open ended. In order to obtain a wiretap warrant you have to provide probable cause. The reason the wiretap warrants are not open ended is it moves it from beyond the realm of probable cause and into the realm of a fishing expedition.

The fact a FISA warrant exists supports trumps claims.

So basically, Trump is or was under investigation by government agencies due to probable cause.

Does this guy even realize he just admitted he was or is under investigation?

Probably not so much Trump as the Russians. They had to provide evidence that Russians were in contact with Trump or his people. When the time frame on the warrant ran out and no evidence was discovered thats the end f the wiretap. The government can always reapply for a FISA warrant if they develop new information.

When a FISA warrant is issued and American citizens are caught up in the investigation there information is required to be redacted / not released.

I would guess the FISA warrant was aimed at certain Russians and in the course of the investigation Trump / Trump people might have appeared on the radar.

Since nothing illegal was discovered that should have been the end of it however in this case they kept the taps in place, which is illegal.

It doesn't matter. You are not supposed to willing sway opinion of open proceedings or investigations. In some cases you literally would be in contempt of court.

And is record of the FISA request.

No way they can say is not true.

Are you saying the request was successful?

That they had compelling evidence to support the request?

Oh my...

Semantics followed by a lie.. They were investigating Russian involvement in US elections and at some point Trump / Trump associates showed up on the radar screen. Thats the only way they can get a wiretap for Trump property.

Was Trump the target of the wiretap? Most likely not because they were focused on Russians. Does it harm Trump to leak his contacts with Russians to undermine his Presidency? absolutely.

Anytime a FISA warrant is used and an US citizen is caught up in it there info is restricted yet somehow we have all these leaks linking US citizens to the investigation by unnamed sources.
