And in the end, it really was just fate.
Sweet irony, a thought to contemplate.
As I paid my obolus to the ferryman,
I looked back toward the living land.
And I saw all that I'd said and done,
All the hurt and pain I caused everyone.
Every despicable act, every pitiful deed,
The choices I made, out of selfish greed.
I know... I said that I'd have no regrets.
And I don't! I think..not really..and yet,
I do! One erroneous, unforgivable deed...
I chose to follow more, than I chose to lead.
And in the end, it really was just fate...
I'd become everything that I used to hate.
I think..no matter, next time I'll get it right,
As I step onto the ferry and into the night.
