They should not have resorted to violence. Personally I would only protest outside, not inside. It is kind of curious though that colleges and universities keep taking money from hate peddlers. Protest should probably move to the Boards offices.

After Milo I am not understanding why Universities with a strong Liberal student body keep doing this. Surely, there are are other colleges that would have liked this speaker.

I'm not a fan of the right but I'm curious how you mean? I wasn't aware of republicans trying to cause loss of employment of people they disagree with, no platforming those they don't agree with, using violence or threats thereof to stifle opinions they don't agree with, trying to claim a particular group of people are fine to punch, trying to sink businesses who's owners hold opinions they don't agree with, or claim that you must think their way or not be considered part of society.

I know of no centrist or leftist who feels their ideals are under scrutiny and that revealing their views is tantamount to social suicide at work/school/in public arenas.

If the right was as authoritarian as the SS then the media stars who are critical to the point of wishing death and harm to the right would hardly be free or feel safe to do as they continue to do.

To be clear, I dont think of the left (hard left) as mildly brownshirt-ish either, though they fit the mold, but Id like to see your reasons the right wing apparently is?

What is the left so afraid of? Why shout down other people's speech? If you don't like it, don't listen. Or even better, engage in a civil exchange of ideas, which of course would require you letting opposing viewpoints be heard.

Because there are also conservatives at these colleges, who also deserve to be catered to. Milo was invited, this speaker was invited, generally invited by the colleges republican clubs.

If it is ALREADY mainly liberal, like the UC campuses and Milo, they should have known by the third one.

This one, is a historically LIBERAL college. After seeing what happened with Milo, maybe they could have booked a centrist. They pick and choose who speaks. It may have been a misstep for a liberal college in this atmosphere.
There are tons of conservative and evangelical colleges that would not have had an issue with this speaker.

I am not saying to not offer challenging speakers, but if you can pick and choose, maybe you should look at what happened at other colleges, recently, first.
