I don't disagree....war is an atrocity to visit upon man.

But if we are to be at war, the goal should be to end it the quickest by winning overwhelmingly from the start. It wins today and prevents war tomorrow.

Our war policies have been half assed and lame. Why pick a fight you don't intend to finish?

That was the year of the Einstein-Szilard letter. The project did not begin until 1942.

Farggin autocorrect.

Hitler lost most of his troops through the harsh weather environment in russia. He got cocky and rightfully lost everything in the process. I'm glad that countries stepped in to stop his madness but a lot of people died on all sides.

The first priority of all world leaders should be preventing that from ever happening again. There are a few dictators who pose a real threat and Trump is not even on the list. I don't know if ATS members follow the news in Germany lately but Erdogan is currently determined to use my country as his personal bitch to collect votes to beccome the supreme leader of Turkey. All eyes should be on him . Merkel is his personal bootlicker and that's disgusting and a disgrace for my country.

I have to agree with Trump on Daesh though. They deserve to be obliterated.

How do you figure? Yes 1939 saw the composition of the Einstein-Szilard letter. But even then the concept of a nuclear bomb was theoretical at the very best.

The problem with Iraq wasn't Obama or not winning the War. We basically had won it and all wars have to end. The problem was the puppet dictator and government that we installed after the war...that's why there are ongoing issues there. A government we put in to push our agenda and to prop up Haliburton and our Oil companies that are still profiting from Iraq.

Okay, but the research started earlier. Everybody wanted to convince the public they had to join the war, pearl harbour helped a great deal and it ended with two nukes on Japan.
The phrase with the you wanted to try your new nukes was "an artists interpretation of the facts".

You're so ignorant. How about the US stops meddling in the Middle East and creating wars, conflicts, and new enemies? I'm tired of war, the death and destruction it causes along with the insane amount of money WASTED on it and the MIC.

Obama didn't end the Iraq war, Bush did. Are you saying you still want to be at war in Iraq? Sounds like you LOVE war. If so, why don't you join the military and sacrifice yourself for you Daddy?

Yeah do that you nut job. Why the hell does the US have to send their sons and daughters overseas to kill, die, torture and create terrorists?
If you like war so much keep it in your own country.
That's why the whole world hates you. World police, but corrupt to the bone.

The world would have been a much better place without Bush, just saying.
And without the USA who exactly would nuke whom? It's always the US on the frontline if it comes to almost nuke incidents like JFK and the Cuba crisis, cold war... it's always the US!
You are the only nation which ever actually used nukes, you know that? You're the bully not the good guy.

I agree with what you say totally but we are not the only ones to use nukes we are the only ones who used the atomic bomb against other humans nukes are tested all the time look at North Korea the test like 5 a year

Now name call and out right lie. You did say job not finished.

I put in parentheses what the Original Poster said since he claimed that there is 'lasting peace' (See? I did it again) in Korea and Vietnam.

Is there last peace? Commencing contrary viewpoint......now.

Knew better than to argue with name callers, liars and religious zealots. Sigh... In quotes from page one:

Neither one had atomic weapons in the 1950's when we left and installed the DMZ which was a pretty clear indicator that the 'job was not finished and there is lasting peace'.

Now finish the job warmonger... Lol, kill them all, let god sort them out. Or Like McArthur wanted in Korea... Nuke them all!

Whoo hee, I stepped in some neocon dung, excuse me while I wipe it off...

So the idea is to end the wars by killing all the terrorists?

What about the brothers, fathers, uncles, cousins who will avenge them?

No one thought that through? Or maybe that's been the goal all along.

This post confuses me. Are you trying to argue that Korea and Vietnam were successful military forays? We took a clear L in Vietnam and technically we're still at war in Korea.

It has. Bombs aren't 'surgical'; enemies aren't in hospitals, mosques, weddings or funerals, either.

All that is purposefully designed to sow hate and discontent down range. The more pissed off they become the more likely they will shoot back, the more the propaganda machine needs that to justify more 'war on terror'. Convenient that, war declared not on a country but a figure of speech.

I heard he was a bleeding heart liberal. Wait sorry, last cycles terminology.

Emperor Hirohito was a social justice warrior.

Nailed it.
