Alternative fact like "almost defeated" means "took another four years, after America entered the war, of all out warfare to finally defeat" I guess?

I'm all for recognizing other countries' contributions to World War 2, but when it skews in to trying to minimize the American contribution that's a bit silly. Acting as if Germany was on their last legs when America got involved in things is, to be blunt, stupid.
