Why does this man have (presumably) two nostrils when he has one large lung.

Human nostrils (2) funnel back into a single tube (the trachea) that branches into two tubes again, each tube going to one lung.
I suppose that IF the subject was an alien (I am not convinced that he was) he could have two nostrils, one trachea and one lung.
This seemed like a waste of words (since I don't really believe the guy was an alien), but oh well, I did it anyway.

I don't believe in the alien hype on this as this is surely just a guy? As far as the unit being a Cannon class Destroyer - the original picture looks suspiciously like the mess hall on a Benjamin Franklin class ballistic missile submarine - a picture of a mess hall from one below:

Having served on ships and SSBN's (Resolution class which shares a very similar design to the Ben Frank class), it is typical for a boat to have bulkhead storage lockers in the mess / dining hall like in the pic as space is at a premium but no so typical on a skimmer. The furniture and layout are also near identical.

This would explain the presence of the guys in the pic with the atomic credentials. If true then the age of this photo is out by around 20 years.

And no alien.

Are you referring to the normal human guy sitting on the front bench?

A "random guy," huh?

Sitting by himself at the front of the roomful of scientific luminaries of the 1950s as if he's the featured speaker? Hmmmm ... methinks you jerked your knee, there, pardn'r.

I'm not saying he was an aEtherian from Venus , or anything else related to alien intelligence piloting too high tech back then ... but I ain't saying he ain't. either.

But "just some random guy?" Nahhhhhh.... they didn't have steroids to grow 'em that big back then! He would at least rate a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings.

Sitting by himself

It appears that the bloke behind him is sitting by himself also. So nothing unusual there.

Maybe those two chaps sitting alone kept farting and no one would sit next to them.

If I recall, the length of this guy's hands is how they identified him as being alien. So I guess the women take a liking to him.

...I'm sure Trump doesn't want to meet with him.

It is a submarine! Not a destroyer nor the Eldridge. Have I not proven that? Look at the deckhead - it is an under construction SSBN. Hence the rocket guys. Hence the physicists. Hence the atomic scientists. There is nothing so see here apart from a guy with a square jaw who looks like Bjorn from Vikings.

But I suppose he's an alien too. He'll probably command a greater salary for the next season because he's RH-?

I'm on this forum not to discredit. I know the score, trust me but this thread is just BS and you should all forget about it because it's bollocks.

Looks a lot like a Pence IMO. Likely to be a cloned time traveler from the future, and not alien.

An easy way to check is to visit a Cannon Class DE. Anyone near Albany, NY, able to take a look and photo of the Slater? The mess decks don't look like those on a tin can but I was never on Cannon Class DE.

www.nps.gov... The destroyer escort USS Slater remains afloat and is the best extant representative of an important class of World War II warship in the United States. The Slater is berthed in the Hudson River in downtown Albany, New York, not far from her World War II home base at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The USS Slater (DE-766) is a Cannon class destroyer escort, an all-steel, welded vessel built in 1944 in Tampa, Florida. The ship is 306'-long, 36'-wide at the beam, and is divided into several decks and dozens of watertight compartments. The Slater is in excellent condition, retains nearly all of its World War II integrity, and is one of the most authentically-restored historic ships in the United States.

i do not believe the photo was taken August 9th 1943.

i was a electricians mate E4 and the light lights in the room date to the early 1950s on navy ships.

plus i note the lack of any posters, plaques, or any other common things seen on navy ships.

This is not the mess deck on any ship but looks more like a ready room like found on something like a jeep carrier.

Ships like the USS Eldridge did not have a ready room as they had no aircraft. on ships like the USS Eldridge (DE-173) meeting like this would have been held in ether the enlisted of officers mess.
But the bench type seating on the right side of the compartment is not mess deck seating that i have ever seen on a navy ship. the mess decks on navy combat ships of the DD or DE class were also the combat aid station and were set up so that the ships doctor and corpsman could do first aid and surgery on the center tables.
The ash trays on the tables are not navy ash trays an i see no ship board circle William marking on the ventilation systems in the room. in fact i see no navy marking that would be common on a navy combat ship.
This was not taken on a navy combat ship but on a non combat support ship and i believe it was taken in 1946 to 1960s
during bomb testing in the Pacific proving grounds.

This looks like it was taken on a old victory or liberty cargo ship that was being used as a support ship.
The government had a lot of old victory or liberty cargo ships left over after WW2 and they were use for many uses as most were to badly used to be sold to shipping companies and were also to small for shipping companies.

I would say that because his right hand looks like he has just 2 fingers and in an ""alien" kinda way, thats how this tale started. Looks like something a creature would have

Ive heard about the apparent 6 fingers also.
But these pictures show a different case.
Only 5 fingers on each hand...which can be seen clearly in each of these rare pics.

link to pics here

I dont know, maybe im just dumb, but the guy in the set of photos I posted doesnt even look like the guy in the OP's picture.

Yet they both claim to be of Valiant Thor. But the link to the pics I posted also has Thors apparent fellow alien friends Jill and Donn.

Weird stuff

I'm going to say the guy is either the CO or the XO of that particular ship. Gotta know what's going on with your boat. Lt. CR Hamilton was CO of the Eldridge. Maybe someone can find a picture of the man.
