Here is my idea for a movie.

A black confused gay , transgender is brought up in a repressive Christian republican family.

He discovers he is a Muslim

He runs off to join ISIS

He becomes disabled in the war

He returns home and is arrested cruelly persecuted by the evil Trump administration for having joined ISIS

While he is in prison he discovers he is both gay and transgendered.

Two lesbian lawyers work on his behalf to get him released and his transgendered rights in prison recognised.

They lose the case but a new democrat government comes into power and they heroically release our main character on appeal.

He lives happy ever after on welfare.

The end.

Did anyone really think after last year something with black people wasn't going to win best movie or actor?

Maybe the main charrector could be retarded too which is why he is so confused? hahaha

And the lesbian lawyers could be old and obese?

Pease keep moving, no agenda here...

So when does Bollywood, Chinese cinema, Japanese cinema etc. get gifted with the blessing of diversity?

You must be in the 3%.

Rotten Tomatoes has a 97% critic rating.

And a 84% audience rating.

This tells me the movie was extremely good.

That’s because it has a niche audience.

It’s a gay centred movie. The majority of people (with exceptions) won’t bother watching it or even know it exists and so wont review it. Those that would watch it are already likely to give it a good review.

I know I would find the film boring as hell. So I won’t bother watching it, as such I am not going to review it.

Who cares about the best picture award? I think it's a travesty that Mort Finkleman was snubbed yet again in for the Best Sound Editing in an Animated Short Film award.

I'm wondering how much of that was a feigned 'set up' to further draw more

attention to the result .....because of last year

I haven't watched it, but the last several years winners have been awful. And never forget: Gosford Park, one of the 3 worst movies of all time*, was once nominated.

* My opinion after walking out of the theatre an hour into the bore fest.

You sir are a brave soul...for admitting on ATS that you watch the Oscars

In all seriousness, you'd be better off watching CNN...nope... QVC for 4 straight hours. Alternatively, you could carve your eyes out with a spoon, and be better off.

It's true!

Ok garbage is maybe a little strong, the performances were good but this film is absolutely NOT worthy of an Oscar!

Of course you can write a better film. and not just be a critic.

Start with this...

www.celtx.com...

Then when you finish the screen play pm me and we can shoot your film. As a producer, we are always looking for good content and we can take your project from funding to distribution.

btw....I have offered this challenge on ATS plenty of times and not one person has even submitted a treatment much less a scrip to my offer.

I covered this last year, and never expected anything less. Honestly, I would feel embarrassed if I was given an award just as a token for my skin color. It's inherently racist.
