Sessions and Trumps supporters should have met with the Russians before the election, for goodness sake, the US had been pushing war in Syria and Ukraine that the Russians were objecting to...as in threatening nuclear war. And the Democrats recognize that necessity to.. here is a link showing the Demos meeting with top Russians... and how about that Schumer sharing a Krispy Kreme witn Putin.
Get a life you screaming anti trump hypocrites.

Once again, completely ignoring the point, which is the lying part.

Whether or not this "gossipy" ambassador, according to Sessions, discussed his election interests with Sessions doesn't really matter, because Sessions is compromised and his future depends on whether or not the Ambassador chooses to "save" Sessions by telling the press that he and Sessions never discussed the election, (who can't be taken seriously if he does) or to say they did, which will end Sessions career and possibly put him in jail! Russia has leverage over Sessions, and that's unacceptable for the Attorney General of the United States!

You can put Generic_01 politician in replace of "Sessions" in your post and have the same conclusion. The Left have created this flavor of the month "the Russians did it" and that is the only reason this is even a topic. EVERYONE in Washington talks to the Russians...so the Russians could lie about EVERYONE ...lol

The saltiness of the left is the only thing fueling this and that will run dry rather quickly and they will move on to something else since they plan to keep up the bad political rhetoric for the next 4 years since they can do nothing else... They lost everything so that is all they got....

I guess you can call it lying when you are asked 100s of questions from many different sources and if every answer doesn't align perfectly with the last answer it is out right lying...I guess...

I would like to see anyone do that with perfection... Here on ATS there are 100s of points of just about everyone in Politics that gets there facts wrong, gets their answer off from being asked the same question 100 different ways as in each case the question is slightly different then the last. People have posted tons of examples about many recent politicians, so I guess they all lie to hide something or they are just human, and we can move on to some other topic...

The same reason the other 50 ambassadors where there too... Senators meet with dozens and dozen of ambassadors every year as part of their job as Senator... The question put to Sessions was basically did he meet with the Russians in relationship with the Trump Campaign, and the answer is no...

All of this goes back to the leaked DNC emails that had so much damning information and no one talks about it...they talk about Russian Hacks...they talk about Sessions talking to the ambassador etc.. It is all spin to deflect from the real news of just how bad the DNC was/is...

The statement "the Russians did it" is dying on the vine no matter who did the actual physical hack part. There is a lot of confidence it was an insider that made it all happen. An insider that was for The Burn and didn't like how corrupt the DNC was in supporting Hillary as The Burn started to gain a ton of momentum.

"I know who leaked them," Craig Murray, the former British ambassador to Uzbekistan, is quoted by The Guardian. "I've met the person who leaked them, and they are certainly not Russian and it's an insider. It's a leak, not a hack; the two are different things."

This has always been the real story...the real reason Trump won...the real reason the Left needs to keep deflecting for the next four years to even have a chance at gaining anything back....

About that event:

Was Jeff Sessions conducting himself as a United States Senator at the RNC? Not so much. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Sessions paid for the trip to Cleveland for the convention out of his own political funds, not his official congressional funding, and discussed the Trump campaign, obviously, during his remarks at the Heritage Foundation event where he met with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.

One person at the Heritage event in Cleveland said Mr. Sessions left the impression he was there because of his role in the Trump campaign,” the Journal reports. “This person said Mr. Sessions’ remarks in part were focused on Mr. Trump’s trade policy, saying the then-candidate would do away with multilateral trade deals.” At the time, Sessions was the chairman of Trump’s National Security Advisory Committee.

But wait! There's more!

Now that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has turned out to be the dam that broke in Donald Trump’s Russia scandal, new details are arising by the hour. Sessions now admits he met with with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the Republican National Convention and again on September 8th. But now turns out both Trump and Sessions met the Russian Ambassador at Trump’s first ever foreign policy speech back in April of 2016 – because they invited him there.

Russian Ambassador Kislyak was an invited special guest at Donald Trump’s initial foreign policy speech nearly eleven months ago. During that speech, Trump made a point of spelling out his foreign policy of going soft on Russia for no particular reason.

You deflect from the real reasons...once again.

So should we work with the Russians or go to war with them? We know that Trump wants to work with them since they are a world power and China is kind of the bigger threat. The left spin is Trump wants to make personal gains from them...

It seems what was OK in the past is not OK today... Hmmm

This isn't about going to war with Russia, or threats that if Trump is exposed as somehow compromised, that that means war with Russia.

It's not okay, and it can't be America First, if our president has been compromised by the Russians, and builds his policies around that debt.

You have to laugh at the Democrats and their feigned and calculated outrage over a senator from the Armed Services Committee meeting with the ambassador of Russia; of course that senator is AG Sessions but seriously, this is their big freakout.

Forget that Sessions did not meet with the ambassador regarding Trump’s campaign (that was what he was asked folks), but since he merely MET with him, Democrats want him to resign.

Immediately.

So does that mean these 30 Democrats should resign as well?

Lots of "ifs" and nothing out of the norm as any other President or Senator... So what do you want, both Trump and Sessions to resign? That is what the left been preaching about 30 seconds after Trump hit 270 votes. Obama let Russia do what they wanted to do at anytime. Hilary even gave them 20% of our uranium stockpile, so what the hell can Trump do worst...lol

"Compromised" is a talking point of the left, I know you dislike Trump, ya I get it, but don't keep following the left blindly today since they are off the deep end for now...

Not really. Trump has been like the gift that keeps giving for the Russians.

No he didn't and no she didn't. Clearly, Intel has shown that the Russians preferred Trump over Hillary's...Obama 2.0!

Seeking Alpha, I listened and watched the film clip, and Al Franken is no Clarence Darrow. They were discussing the Trump campaign, not Session's Senate duties on the armed services committee. Sessions said he had meetings with beau coup ambassadors about Russians in the Ukraine. And that they were all lined up against Russia. Maybe he should recuse himself from the Trump campaign investigations, if there even are any. But he should go full steam ahead in any investigations of the HRC campaign. It's still open as to whether it was electronic snooping or a plain Jane dissident leaking the info on the Dems. Only Julian Assange, over in London, knows for sure, and he ain't talking. But he detests both Obama and Hillary Clinton. Trump had better security but he also didn't have any dissident leakers so far. NDA's and his penchant for lawsuits really does cut down on gossiping.

The real scandal is Obama's E.O. which has the NSA putting names of private American citizens on intercepted foreign phone calls, and then disseminating them to, IIRC, 17 different agencies. If Al Franken had asked whether Sessions had any Russian contacts, for any reasons, in the last couple of years, then that would be a different story. But Franken couldn't lay a perjury trap if his life depended on it, IMO.

Democrats have had their 'demands' to get Sessions to come back to testify rejected.
Not surprised.

Hopefully Sessions can be left alone to concentrate on investigating Obama's police state tactics whilst he was in office.
